Go to the Dive shop just before Foodland, It has a large anchor outside the shop. Have your design on a CD, price depends on the amount and the amount of colours on the design.

A couple of things it may be useful to know for non Legion-members.
Does "smart casual" mean blazers and medals for those who would normally wear them to the Embassy service?
The Embassy service has effectively been taken over by the various Legion branches and schools due to the wreath-laying process; no offence to the Legion but is the Pattaya service going to be along similar lines where the wreath laying lasts longer than the service, unlike the usual practice where schools and other groups lay their wreaths after the official wreaths (usually no more than one per Armed Service and one per nationality)?
Hi John
I/we would class smart casual as shoes, long trousers and a shirt, many ex services will of course wear suits, blazer and medals. However that does not mean you would be turned away for wearing shorts and a shirt, as far as we are concerned paying your respects is just as important as what you are wearing.
The Embassy service is run by the Embassy on Remembrance Sunday, we attend it but have nothing to do with the running of it, they have certainly not been taken over by Legion Branches even though we are the Custodians of Remembrance (we do take over the Social Club after the Service!!).
Remembrance Services as far as I am concerned should be kept short, simple and to the point, on our service on the 11th there will be 10 poppy wreaths layed, 3 of those by schools (it is after all very important to involve them) the other 7 by invited guests (representatives from the British Embassy, the Royal British Legion, Thailand, Honorary Consuls, VFW and other groups). There will be no individual wreaths, however there will be a Garden of Remembrance outside the front of the church where individuals may, if they wish place a small wooden poppy cross with the name of an loved one they have lost in the garden, those same crosses will also be placed in the British Embassy the following Sunday.
This will be our first Remembrance Day Service in Pattaya so it will of course be a learning curve as regards how many attend but as I have said it will be simple and traditional.
Best regards
Bert

First of all I promise no mention of Sausages!,
We are fast approaching the time of year the Legion call Remembrancetide, we will again be putting out Poppy Boxes in a number of pubs and offices around the Pattaya area, we also cover other areas of Thailand including BKK, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Korat and Hua Hin.
We will be attending the Sevice of Remembrance at the British Embassy, Bangkok on Sunday 14th November and also our first Remembrance Service in Pattaya.
This will be held at St Nikolaus Church, Sukhumvit road on Thursday 11th November at 10.50am ( please try to be seated by 10.40am, dress at least smart casual)
All nationalities and faiths are more than welcome to attend, the service will be as it should be, short and simple lasting about 30 minutes. Wreaths will be laid by a number of groups inside the church, outside will be a garden of remembrance where, if you wish you may place a small wooden cross with the name a loved one you have lost on it.
As I have said this is open to all and you can of course just turn up, however it would help us if we had an idea of numbers, especially if you intend to bring a large group (I could then reserve seats for you) Please PM me if you intend to be at the service.
Many thanks

Hello All,
My name is Tony Bell, as Bert has said I am looking to build on the membership numbers for the RBL here in Bangkok. I am not looking for people to do anything (apart from helping out with poppy boxes and such) as I will handle most things here until the membership has grown to 15+.
We will be having our get togethers at the crossbar on the 3rd Sunday of every month, in October its the 17th, November its the 21st and December 19th starting at 2pm, for lunch and a few beers. If the membership grows, then we will look to increase the amount of times we meet each month.
Initialy, the meets will be there for us to promote the Legion and to increase membership numbers.
You dont need to have served in the armed forces or be British to join the Royal British Legion!
Contact me on [email protected] or on 0846415202 and I will be happy to help!
Thanks
If it's OK with you I will bring all Bangkok boxes down on the 17th, good excuse for a drink or three!!

The Royal British Legion are fairly well established now in a number of areas of Thailand, Pattaya, Korat and Chiang Mai but we could certainly do with more members from the Bangkok area. We are fast approaching Remembrancetide when we will be putting out collection boxes in a number of bars, restaurants and even International Schools within Bangkok, we could certainly use a little help doing this. We will also be attending the Remembrance Service at the British Embassy on Sunday 14th November, a first for us this year will be a full Service of Remembrance at 10.30am on Thursday 11th November at St Nikolaus Church Pattaya.
It's not all work, whilst our primary role is the care and welfare of those who have served, are serving (within the UK Armed Forces) and/or their dependents we also have a very active social calendar including trips to the the River Kwai for ANZAC Day and Malaysia every June.
Our man in Bangkok is Antony Bell who has already approached a friendly Landlord willing to host the group and offer discounts to members, you can contact Tony at [email protected] who will be able to provide you with an on line application form, details of where they intend to meet etc, it's a great way to both get involved and make new friends. You do NOT have to have served in the Armed Forces to join.
Many thanks for your time.

Ordered our second takeaway there last night, family stuck with the Hawian I had a Mr Cs. Good,in fact very good.
-
There is also one in Soi Day and Night, past the Pattaya People Office, small Indian corner shop on the left.
-
Tried the delivery last night, they said 30 or 40 mins, I would say it arrived in about 15. Delvery guy phoned for fine details of our location, turned out he was at the back door. I am no Pizza expert but the taste, content and presentation were certainly as good or better than the others I have tried and it was hot.
I had Pepperoni 220 Baht (plenty of meat), Wife had Anchovie 250 Baht ( I tried a slice, very good), Daughter had Hawaian 250 Baht ( all gone before I had a chance to sample !!), all medium size, delivery 30 Baht.
On the menu flyer they do say delivery 30 Baht in Pattaya, Jomtiem and Siam Country Road, Minimum order 250 Baht.

Still in the oven John
Talk about Tactics!!!
Raro and Phil Conners arrived from opposite ends of the building at the same time, far too early. They then phoned their wife's hoping they would be in with a chance, they got the question right but still to early. They all got a free drink, now things got crafty, Begsaresponse and Dotty arrived but did not ask the question!!! had a drink and left. Meanwhile GEZ. T arrives, see's whats going on and orders Cod and Chips to take away Later!. Begs and Dotty return with John 101 and start asking the Q, Gez T tries to jump in at the same time and Raro and Phil sneek out the back door to see whatever happened to the old library John 101 was the 7th, Begs and Dotty got a drink, Gez T got nothing + had to pay for his take away!!,
Next promotionm; maybe Ribs n Baked potato
So what happened to my FREE fish and chips ???

Cod fatty !!!!!!!! Dory is a flat fish like snow fish also known as Jesus fish because of the thumb print on it's side just behind the fin's. No: one it is bloody expencive and no: two it's fine textured like plaice and not very good fried. Best steamed or poached. I doubt that your useing it more likely the other white fish they sell in Makro's. No problem with that it's nice. Sorry to be pedantic but I used to be a chief. They also sold Cod Fillet, that where I got mine until recently as they have "Run Out". As regards Dory many of my customers would disagree with you, it makes very good F/C if done correctly.
exactly! Give me the Dory any time but keep the cod. F&C is a fatty enough affair, no need for such a fatty fish on top.
Just to put things right Fredob, you are talking about a Fish called "John Dory", a very nice tasing fish that yes has an imprint either side. You are correct, very nice steamed and very expensive. There are some places within Pattaya that actually advertise fish as John Dory when it is not!!!.
Our Dory is advertised on the menu as Pacific Dory, the same as most restuarants in Pattaya, a nice white fillet that goes well with batter, that is relitivly cheap.

Makro sell's cod loin Not expencive If your going to do fish a chip's do it right. Dory great fist but not for F/C.You won't be disappointed, unless your taste buds are calling for cod. Been there 4x and nearest I got to cod was a firm promise that maybe next time...I reckon it's a bait 'n switch joint, but will let you know because will be there again tomollo.
Sorry Leemo, still no Cod, we can get Cod Loin but as far as I am concerned that is not what customers want for Fish n Chips, so would rather say sorry no CodI will try again tomorrow just in case they have it.
Cheers

Bert: Thanks for the intros and also the freebie. The mrs who knew only village life till a year ago took a while to absorb the freebie concept; her initial response was, "But this is Pattaya...!"
Cheers.
My pleasure Leemo, I must try and convince Mrs Raro and Mrs Conners that the "Bert have you lost weight" promotion is over!! Maybe a Ribs one next week

Hey Bert, there were more than 7 farangs when we arrived, but as a rare drinker the loss of zero chance for a freebie was quite bearable. Sorry no intro, but we were in patch mode...you know, high wire, gale force winds, no safety net...
You were out of cod, but must agree with raro that the dory was spot on, and it was also a delight to eat real chips for a change. Mrs doesn't have too much free time for outings, but she also liked your gaff so hopefully will revisit over the next few days.
Keep well.
Thanks for the feedback Leemo, yes we did run out of Cod and no more at the supplier until Tuesday, sorry about that.
Hope to meet you next time
Cheers
