  1. we have just picked up our daughter and new son-in -law from man (uk) airport after their honeymoon on koh samui !!!!!!!9 days of rain and floods was enough ...so they booked a flight to bkk and followed the advice of mum and dad (who have been in thailand on and off for 10yrs )and had a great time seeing life in the city ....but whats happening with the weather over there ..it seems you have MORE RAIN !!!!we return in 3 weeks pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee loose all the rain ,we want sun and heat after 2 months of FREEZING SNOW !!!!!!!
  2. same as prevous member we have been travelling with etihad for 5 ys now ..at least twice a year from man or h/row to bkk .never had a complaint .if you regester straight away for FF.programe you sometimes are upgraded at no extra cost even if you are not a silver or gold member if they have seats available . we have been upgraded on at least one leg of every flight we have made !we soon reached the level of miles needed to use lounges in any airportyou are travelling through ..this is a huge benefit as you are able to shower and change after a long floght.on the one occaision we were delayed by 6 hrs they apologised and said if we didnt mind moving we could use the 1st class lounge !erm ..let me think about that !!!!.....

cannot fault them in anyway ..also sem to be one of the cheaper airlines doing this route so excellent value for money .

    would reccomend Etihad to all

Ryans Bar - Pattaya - Naklua Road just before Soi Wongamat does fishing trips every week.

Gary the boss or Steve The Manager are usually in the bar to find out info from.

  10. Sorry no video but we had a similar blessing party for our silver weddng anniversary at a friends house in Non Sa'aat out side of Udorn Thani .we bought 2 pigs a pickup full of lowkow and beer and had 2 days off eating and drinking with all the people from the 3 surrounding villages.it is the best party i can remember having without knowing who everyone was apart from our friends family.

reading some of the previous posts ----dont wait too long you never know what is round the corner

  12. Ive found the Postal service to be reliable. Never had anything go astray and generaly arives on time.

As for Real Estate Agents the best recomendation i could give is to not use them at all.

re estate agents-so better to go with word of mouth via friends or adds in papers,

if so ,anybody got a house to let from April please, promise not to have any wild parties(if we do we will invite you so dont worry) :o

    regards M

  13. can i have help with this little prob? :D there probably is a forum somewhere but can not find it .arriving april for 6/8 mnths ,need to know the reliability of post incoming or safer using P.O. box,its only for family /friends contact. also any dealings with Real Estate Agents for renting ,can anyone give any recomendations

    thank you :o

  14. best pad thai, only 25 baht, just as you turn into soi nern plhap waan (suk 53) from suk road , it is barely 10 meters up the road on your left, only a little stall and doesn't open till 5 or 6pm, but you can see the cart parked there in the daytime. just look for the queues when the stall opens, mainly Thais but a few farangs know about it and probably a few more now.

Yep the PadThai from this stall is excellent.. The Stall is called '' PadThai SukoThai '' Sorry can't write Thai script on this PC. Its a little different from the PadThai available elsewhere cos they add ''Muu Daeng'' (Chinese style red roasted pork) and ''nang muu grob'' (crispy pork cracklings) If you buy a packet to take home careful as you unwrap it as there will be a couple of teaspoons full of Prik pon (roasted chilli powder) and sugar inside the package.. You can ask for no chilli ( mai sai prik pon khrap) if you don't like it too spicy (but I like it sweet and hot like da Thais)

Many of my Thaifriends have raved about the taste when I showed them the stall.

Another good place that has just opened is on the left hand side of Pattaya nua just after the traffic lights for third rd (heading towards Sukhumvit) It sells excellent muu satay (pork satay) there is a big sign outside above the groundfloor shophouse (its in Thai so you may need a wife/GF) but excellent taste and peanut sauce isn't too sweet..price is right too..

    Enjoy... great thread idea too.

Myself and hubby like trying the more interesting places to eat but as we are both european we do not have a "mobile translation unit" i.e.W/GF ,not even a mere noi(sorry about spelling),so any sugestions, pointing and smiling does not always get you the best food going :o

  15. that would be excellent news, anyone else can confirm this?

when does the departure tax increase? or does it do so in line with hiding it in your ticket costs?

the new departure tax inc in ticket starts feb 2007

up from 500 to 700 bht :o , it will be included in the ticket price when purchased
