People are not there to be paid.
An avalanche of anecdotal evidence, videos, and journalistic reports completely buries that fanciful and farcical notion.

What goes around comes around. One menacing thug less to deal with.
He was a Major General in the Royal Thai Army. Thug indeed
The paperwork to throw him out of the Army and strip him of all rank was initiated prior to the shooting.
It just hadn't been finalized yet.

Three Australians injured in Thailand violence
Three Australians have been injured in violent clashes in Thailand, the Australian Associated Press reported on Saturday.
Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) has been helping three Australians who have been injured and received medical treatment. Their injuries were not life-threatening.
Some foreign embassies in Bangkok have closed, but Australia's has remained open.
That decision is "under constant review".
The DFAT continued to advise those planning a trip to Thailand to reconsider the need to travel because of the widening political unrest and civil disorder.

U.S. evacuates non-essential embassy staff, families in Thailand
The U.S. State Department said Saturday that it had ordered the evacuation of non-essential embassy staff and their families from Thailand in response the escalating violence in the Asian country.
The evacuation followed an earlier decision by the U.S. government to close its embassy in Bangkok, capital of the Thailand, on Thursday and relocated its embassy staff to an area unaffected by the violent conflicts between the Thai government and anti-government protesters.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the State Department also urged U.S. citizens to refrain from making any non-essential trip to the Thailand.
"U.S. citizens should defer all travel to Bangkok and defer all non-essential travel to the rest of Thailand," the statement said.

NATION - "Three RPG rockets were fired at the Dusit Thani Hotel late Sunday night, prompting evacuation of tourists and reporters staying inside."
No doubt fired by an innocent, peaceful, unarmed, civilian protester who doesn't deserve to be shot by the army.
Note that not a single demonstrator who has stayed within the restricted demonstration area has been injured.
Electrical power was obviously knocked out by the blasts
A guest is given first aid after fainting, following explosions and gunfire heard around the luxury Dusit Thani Hotel early morning in Bangkok's business district May 17, 2010. Thailand took a tough stand against anti-government protesters on Sunday, rejecting demands for U.N.-supervised talks and calling on their leaders to surrender on the fourth day of deadly clashes with troops.

the reds are asking for UN help to stop the government from hurting them. they, the reds want everything changed for their benefit. they state what they are asking is for all the people. i believe there are over 60 million residents in Thailand and how many demonstrators are there. maybe the ones demonstrating only want the money promised by Thaksin if they win. in others comments it has been noted that most of the reds are thugs, druggies and homeless who are working for the money. no democracy needed for them, just the money
That's an accurate description of things.
Thaksin's crowd asking for help now from the "Not my father" UN is ironic.

Thaksin obtained Montenegrin citizenship before he was indicted in Thailand
That means he's had this foreign citizenship for quite some time and apparently much longer than most people knew about as Thaksin was indicted nearly three years ago in June 2007.

Ex-Thai PM told: Don't use Montenegro for politics
Reuters
May 14, 2010
LJUBLJANA, SLOVENIA (Reuters) - Ousted Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, who has Montenegro citizenship, must not use his stay in the Balkan country to send political messages to his homeland, Montenegro's Foreign Minister said on Friday.
Speaking in Montenegro in April, Thaksin said he was in contact with supporters in Thailand.
It was unclear if he was still in the country.
Milan Rocen, the Foreign Minister, said Thaksin obtained Montenegrin citizenship before he was indicted in Thailand, adding that the former Thai premier was not wanted by Interpol.
"We pointed out to Mister Shinawatra that he cannot in any way use our territory, our hospitality for political activities and for sending political messages to his supporters ... in Thailand," he told reporters during a visit to Slovenia.
Thaksin was ousted in a military coup in 2006 and later sentenced in absentia to two years in jail for graft.
Demonstrations by "red shirt" pro-Thaksin protesters in Thailand have spiraled into a crisis which has killed 31 people, wounded more than 1,400, and scared off investors.
Rocen said Thaksin was "interested in significant projects in Montenegro" and that giving him citizenship has helped boost Montenegro's global profile.
Rocen added that several European states have given citizenship to what he described as controversial businessmen, but gave no names, adding that Montenegro "was no exception".
Montenegro, which declared independence from Serbia in 2006, wants to join the European Union and hopes to get EU candidate status by the end of this year.

Nothing surprising. That's SOP whenever there is trouble lurking.
Same with the Shinawatra clan.
Potjaman and her son and daughter, Panthongtae and Pinthongtha Shinawatra, have left for Singapore and the other daughter, Paethongtan, has left now for an unnamed European country.
With them safely away, anything can happen now.
