No, not on this side of eternity anyway!
Now, The Netherlands, Canada, Jamaica and the US can be called Cannabis tourism empires.

No one, single or any size group foreigners will ever be able to damage Thai image the way this man already has. Ever.

Is there no Thai version of ‘Don’t cry wolf’ whatsoever??

Reading that was like watching a slot machine in action.

The health authorites in Norway says face masks worn by non-professionals have little to no effect, and could actually make matters worse and is just a waste of time and recources. Cleaning your hands as often as possible however has far better effect.

That has got to mean that the ‘bring-happiness-back-to-the-people-campaign’ has failed completely then, yes?

Oh, the irony.
Does this mean that PM have lost face now?

‘PM assures’ Is something that’s been heard so many times the last 5-6 years. So from experience I believe most people know whatever it is that’s being assured, the exact opposite will be the truth.

Perhaps this been said before a few times, but wouldn’t this would be a golden opportunity to initiate some nation wide effort to restore places that’s already been trashed by way, way more visitors than the natural setting can handle. Cleaning the beaches that literally turned into sandy garbage dumps probably would help a lot too, and do something about that sewage water flowing into the sea on the beaches around the kingdom. Maybe set up a national yearly schedule as how to keep the kingdoms natural beauty clean and well maintained at all times?
food for thought.

It's more like months and months of unhealthy air, here in Chiang Mai at least.
I work in tourism and longstayers are cutting their stays short and leaving.
It's happening here, Chiang Mai is dying. A high season ruined by air pollution will be the final straw, especially if the "normal" smoky season is as bad, or worse, than last years.
I'm also working towards an exit. Don't want to pay the price later in life, I'm 40 years old.I’m afraid that next years ‘smokey season’ will be worse than this year and worse the year after that and so on until the people assigned to handle the situation actually DO something.

"Particulate matter less than 2.5 micrograms per cubic metre (PM2.5) averaged 27-66mcg per cubic metre in over 50 areas, exceeding the 50mcg per cubic metre air quality standard of the department."
"Air quality guideline. Air quality guideline is an annual mean concentration guideline for particulate matter from the World Health Organization. The guideline stipulates that PM2. 5 not exceed 10 μg/m3 annual mean, or 25 μg/m3 24-hour mean; and that PM10 not exceed 20 μg/m3 annual mean, or 50 μg/m3 24-hour mean."
Thailand is right on target as usual (NOT). The books are not being cooked in Thailand. Wouldn't want to "panic" the Thai people (and others).
Funny how ’safe levels’ of toxins varies for people in various places on earth, isn’t it?

It’s always the same everywhere, isn’t it? Just lean on the common public to use whatever in shortage at the moment more scarcely. Shower less, brush your teeth in the same water as the rest of your family and why not shower the whole family while cleaning the car? Meanwhile, the industry, that turns copious amounts water, in this case, into toxic waste 24/7, are kindly asked to please step up production so more of that sweet, sweet dough keeps rolling in. If that’s not the definition of Idiocracy it bloody should be.

'Tourist numbers at record high's'
"Thailand welcomes 39 million tourists'
'Pattaya Dead'
'Phuket hotels at record low occupancy in 3 decades'
Who knows what the real story is.
But maybe the penny is beginning to drop that they maybe have, if not killed the Golden Goose, with the their scams, over charging, pollution, the list goes on, severely wounded that goose.
And perhaps they have figured out that there is actually competition for the Asian tourist market, and others may be winning!
The goose is long, loong gone by now. Seems to me what they’re attempting now is to create some sort of expo of how amazing that goose use to be. All just my opinion off course.

Thailand wants? Thailand had! And what they had was uniquely amazing. However, what they had is gone now. Thailand squandered.

Do you know what a good activity wold be now when the numbers of tourists reportedly are way down? Some thorough, well planned maintenance of all structures connected to the tourism industry. Peddle that in the media, Me thinks it would benefit the all important image of Thailand as a tourist destination.
