My work permit and visa will be cancelled this week. I intend to do a visa run and come back on a tourist visa, and may apply for a retirement visa. I have several bank accounts in Thailand opened many years ago. Do I need to advise my banks on my visa status an would they still be legal if I stayed on a tourist visa and/or a retirement visa ( I assume answer to the latter is yes.

I flew last weekend from Bangkok to Chiangmai. At check-in at DMK was asked for my vaccine certificate, and there was a QR code to fill in details for Chiangmai like my hotel, etc. On arrival at CNX, only checked that I had completed the form. This is going from red zone to green zone.
On the return, no checks or QR code, form filling necessary.
Not much inconvenience at all.

Well, that wasn't expected at all....
Given that chances are high I will arrive in Thailand this weekend, what was the last lock down like? I remember there was a curfew, no nightlife, and random foreigners were busted throwing private parties - but were there more restrictions or could you at least go get food and supplies during the day?
We'll be in quarantine until mid-January anyway, but wondering what happens after...
....and no alcohol

I think the app works now and again, and maybe it wants you to fail to report the 90 days so you get fined. Just been to Division 1 new 90 day reporting office near Impact, total disaster. No signs - it took me 20 mins to find the right building. Once you get into building, does not mention floor for A counter (on 2nd floor), fill in the form, then get a queue number, wait wait wait and then told to queue again into the offices. Will be sure to try to do it online 7 days before as I don't want to o back there.

Just spent the long weekend in CM, and it was sad to see so many shops closed with many For Rent or For Sale signs. I walked around the old city, Tapae gate, Loi Kroh, Nimman all very quiet, never mind the coffee shops and restaurants if they are still open, you may be their only customer.

Since last year, most supermarkets and convenience stores do not give plastic bags at check out which is progress. However, anyone walking the aisles of any supermarket will find so many food stuffs including vegetables and other packaging in plastic which amounts to a lot more plastic usage than the bags given at check-out. I know this is a supplier and food producer issue, but has any pressure been put on these to food producers to reduce or stop plastic packaging?
Worse are all the coffee shops including the Starbux of this world that still use so many plastic cups, plastic lids and straws.
It seems the Government paid lip service to appease some people by banning plastic bags last year but, they really have not scratched the surface.

Air Asia - credit my account as promised. This is a joke, been more than 6 weeks, and do not even try to chat with AVA - total waste of time. customer satisfaction = Big Zero

If Trump cannot be the limelight, then shift the focus on China and anything else so he does not look bad. His handling of the pandemic has been woeful, the largest number of infections and deaths in the world is in the USA - no organisation, no compassion, no nothing, just "we have done an incredible job", "we have been very successful" - what a total loser.

My 2 flights on Qantas were cancelled (due to travel in April), and accepted the credit voucher option reluctantly. They sent the vouchers pretty quickly but the conditions are unacceptable - I was flying from Jakarta where I was supposed to be on a business trip to Sydney. Voucher says can only redeem from that original country which is ridiculous as I live in Thailand. For the other voucher from Sydney to Bangkok, it also says I can only use from Australia. Total 51000 Baht i will most probably lose. People warned me about QF long ago.

Asked AirAsia to credit my account for 2 flights cancelled, got a case number and 40 days later, still no credit. Reading Tony Fernandes' letter on this thread where he encourages you to ask for credit rather than a refund, but seems all bulls***t

Airlines and hotels will have to slash prices to get going again and at least survive, so lots of bargains to be had once some countries re-open. However, it will take at least 2 years for tourism to get back to normal levels, and only if a vaccine has been found by then. In the meantime some airlines and many hotels will go bankrupt, so some tourist towns/islands and will resemble ghost towns with more entertainment venues, bars and restaurants closed forever.
For the independent traveler looking for peace and quiet, this will be the optimum time - enjoy while it last.

and that goes for Phuket and Samui and other beach resorts/islands

Many of these young Thai drinkers they are trying to keep alcohol away from will just resort to drugs, so whilst trying to stop the spread of the corona, we'll only end up with more drug addicts.

Instead of stating the obvious about the amount of time Pattaya's tourism industry may take to recover, why don't they look at the opportunity in front of them: time to clean up Pattaya and make it a resort for the New World that is coming, less jet ski scams, less double pricing, sort out the waste water drains going out to sea, the songtheaw mafia, etc - time to make it more welcoming

Unsure why not many have taken to Trump's suggestion of ingesting desinfectants, it kills the virus and is far cheaper than alcohol

To add to why not so many infections in Thailand and Cambodia, as you travel around both countries you will have noticed that most Chinese tourists come in groups, they stay together in hotels, buses, boats, shops etc and do not really mix with the locals at all, so I assume if there was much transmission it was amongst themselves + the tour guide, the bus driver and the hotel/restaurant staff but not the general population unlike tourists from other countries.

The State of Emergency gives the PM more power to control the media (as if it was already free), and I suppose even shut down social media - dangerous indeed

Arrived in Bali on March 17th and entered with no problems. Bali has had 4 cases of COVID-19 with one death (an elderly foreigner). There are few foreigners here but life is presently quite normal and good here except gatherings and events for a big holiday next week have been cancelled. Suppose to leave on April 15th after my 30 days is up but if unable to return to Thailand, I'll head to Indo immigration for an extension. Figure I have enuf cash to stay 100 days. I'm not gonna worry about anything until then. The weather is great, food fantastic, people super, and the US dollar is really strong...feel alot better and safer here than I did back in Thailand with the virus situation there.
Exactly why I wanted to Bali.
I agree that in the last 2 weeks with the evolving situation it would be really stupid to plan a holiday anywhere, however I booked my trip to Bali early January when there was no way of knowing what we know today, so this is not an April's fool post. I have now carefully reconsidered and could only come to one conclusion: cancel my trip.

UK national working in Thailand (and not visited any restricted countries) with Thai partner flying to Bali on 1st April for 10 days holiday. I cannot seem to find out if or any current restrictions for arrival in Indonesia or returning into Bangkok. Cannot get through to Indonesian embassy for information.

Does anyone believe the reporting of new cases by Thai authorities to be accurate?

Try Ao Cho Grandview on a very quiet beach, but next to another one full of restaurants

Last week had a 50 minutes queue to get through immigration. AOT, TAT and Immigration dept. are obviously working hard on your first impression when entering Thailand.
