  1. I have been told that Penang has just recently stopped issuing 1 year non-b and will only give 3 month single entry. I have asked these people if they had all the correct paper work, passport/ work permit are valid ect, and of course they said yes but they could be lying not to look like a fool, I have also heard at the same time others received 1 year multi entry no problems. I would like to know if anyone with in the past 2 weeks has had any issues being denied a 1 year multi entry other than not having proper documents or documents without the proper length of validity.

    when I looked into ordering a sprocket form motosport the postage was costing more than the actual item

    I have to order a few items from them shipping is about 2,000 and some change. You can pre pay the customs with them but I'm not to sure about that, I have ordered duplicate items only a few days apart and customs forms filled out with the same value amounts and both cost different amounts in customs. They say it's guaranteed but then again this is Thailand.

  3. Found a pretty good website for D-Tracker/ KLX parts, only draw back is it is in the US. I was thinking about switching to a 13T front sprocket any opinions? Have seen a few posts but most are from trail riders, and Thai roads have a little bit of everything to offer from trails.

    the 13t will be fine with ur dratcker. They are around 700baht locally made. Getting the original one off can be a challenge. Google for some ideas klx front sprocket removal. Then instruct the shop how to do it. I made sure the had the proper socket and a 4' breaker bar. I held the bike and stood on the rear brake. He had trouble with the master link clip too

    I was thinking of going with the front sprocket to start and see how I like the set up and if I don't it only cost a small amount. Then if I like it look into a kit front and rear with a new o-ring chain so everything matches together and looks good. This is the kit I am looking at it's a little pricey but figure I might as well order a good durable set it's a little pricey but heard lots of good things about the set. http://www.motosport.com/dirtbike/RENTHAL-CHAIN-SPROCKET-KIT.

    I only go to two shops here in Phuket, Kawasaki, and Boy Big Bike Shop in Patong near the temple going towards Kathu. The owner is pretty knowledgeable as well as the guys, the boss and another guy speak and understand English fairly well the shop guys can a little bit. Since they installed my new engine I normally go to them.

  4. I will be working between Thailand and Myanmar on a vessel and was told their is a passbook that acts like a passport for the vessel you are working on so you do not have to pay Myanmar fees. Does anyone know the exact name of this passbook, some have said it was a sea card, others called it some sort of passbook. Does anyone know the exact name for this?

  5. Went to Kawa today, checked on the big bore kit and was told it would be best to contact BKK directly. My guy at Kawa did surprise me with a reprogrammed API module to replace the stock ECU. Last time I checked on the modules to de-restrict the bike they were not from API. I was told that it de-restricts the bike and remaps the fuel, was only 3,000 baht, so had them install the API controller along with a K&N air filter. At first the ride was good then once I hit 40-60 the bike started to stumble, as long as I kept up the RPM's it wasn't to bad; I thought maybe removing the air filter box cover might be having an adverse effect. I put the the cover back on and since I was on empty thought I would give 95 a try, the response was a bit better but you need to give it more throttle from take off and stumbles a little bit around 60, once your past 60 it flies, then on decel it stumbles alot on the way down. If the problem still persists I will take it back in tomorrow since it's a bit of a trek to the Kawa shop. The plus side tho is I hit 135 uphill, I'm about 90kg and had an additional 10kg in my bag.

    I read these api threads problems over and over. I have yet to hear one with rave reviews. You now have a non programable ecu. Now when u add a pipe etc how are you going to adjust the fuel...

    A suggestion would be to remove the k&n install the factory filter close the box up and try it. If you are lean this will help

    I have been told you can have them programmed but is a pain, it all sounded great at first now it's not proving as great as I was expecting. I did switch back the stock ecu, and went back to the wire trick. I can say there is a bit of performance difference between the two mods. The API unit did have a bit more performance but it does not give you the performance all the way through once you get to 40 then you get it back once you pass 60 but can really feel it stumble. When I went back to the stock ecu it just did not have the same umph but i still hit 135, and up hill about 130.

    I hope i am incorrect but I dont think the 3000baht model is the programmable one.....look at the mods i posted above virtually free and you will be amazed!!!

    Removed the API unit and swapped back to the stock ECU, will just stick with the wire trick for now. Did speak to someone at Kawa that is running the API but with stick exhaust and intake and said it ran fine but may have just been lucky enough to get a good one. Going to try and order the 175 snorkel, buy some resistors and try to bypass the 02 sensor. I want to go to a 13t sprocket but a few buds told me not to and they went back to the 14t as they had to many rpm when they hit the 115 mark.

    Starting to get tempted to go up to BKK and have a look around for goodies, trying to find an led tail light in Phuket but can only find ones for the KSR. I can get them online but would rather pick one up for cheap around here.

  8. Get in touch with API, ask if they have a contact or a recommendation for someone who can tune the API ECU for you in Phuket. If they do get them to send you the ECU, you can fit it very easily then take it to their contact to tune it with the software that API would also send you.

    For the big bore kit, this can be obtained from Kawa parts division on Rama 9 BKK. Also the Boss 175 air box intake can be sourced from then. They will ship both, I was going to put the big bore kit on my tracker then i sold it for a er6n. I think they cost about 21,000...¿??.

    Jump on the d-tracker page on Facebook or the Thailand tracker forum. The guys on their are a wealth of knowledge and will be able to help you out with Mech/Techs in Phuket that can fit n tune all of the kit you receive from Bkk.

    Just found the facebook page and posted on there about the big bore kit hopefully will get some insight, also going to pop over to Kawa tomorrow and check into the big bore kit. I recently had to replace my engine in June as the previous owner lied about the services resulting in me blowing the engine. thought about installing a big bore kit then and should have but was pissed and not thinking clearly.

    I want to get a ER 6n for cruising but waiting until I come across the right deal on a used one, but still want to keep my D'Tracker love it for the city easy to get around and alot of fun; but really want to turn it into a sleeper bike.

  9. Thanks to wantan for the following information on how to BRIDGE the wires to de-restrict the bike, you DO NOT CUT the wires as I have seen posted in many forums. You can go to Kawasaki and have them de-restrict the bike properly but will cost around 8,000 THB. I did this trick first and it does work, I was quite pleased with the performance from such a minor mod, I hit 130 no problem and ran through the gears fairly fast then noticed I was at 135 when it started to cut out. It felt to have just a slight bit better performance as well. The page with the info for this mod is in German ( http://www.svendura.de/tuning.html ) but below is a translated version of the page for those who don't speak German.

    I do have a Two Brothers exhaist installed on the bike which i did back in January and was very pleased with it, the performance increased slightly. The bike would always pop on decel so I removed the air box cover which helped out, but will switch to a KN filter soon. The exhaust is really loud you can here me coming miles away.

    I am also looking to switch from street tires to off-road tires, besides the ride quality any pros/ cons?

    The activation of the second ignition curve is very easy. Thus, the KLX250 is finally the way you can expect from a 22 hp enduro. For the conversion you need no tools and can undo it without getting off with two handles, if the motorcycle is to be moved back on the public roads.

    The second ignition timing is started by the bypassing of the clutch switch.

    Thinks her little flat plug on the clutch lever and pulls it gently. Instead, please do not use pliers, then you can do nothing broken.

    Let the two terminals at rest, which are marked in the image.

    Trick: The lock is located on the underside of the plug (see next photo).

    The bypassed plug can then be upside down again onto the small locking tab clicks in easily.

    For return to the public road you pull the little underground cable back out and push the tab back into its socket.

    Conclusion:

    The bike turns effortlessly with this mapping over 8,500 rpm and reaches sitting upright about 130 km / h As the red part of the Kawasaki starts at 10,500 rpm and the engine is water cooled also, I do not expect damage to the engine.

    Suspension, brakes and tires are also designed for higher performance because the KLX250 in other countries (eg USA) already comes with a much higher power. Nevertheless, I assume no liability for the consequences of this conversion and warn strongly against the bike move in this state on the public roads.   10. I have read through the posts on ThaiVisa, GTRider and a few other forums. I am looking for a good shop in Phuket to take my D'tracker to for assistance with modifying it. I am looking to possibly throw on a big bore kit, swap out the injector, intake, and possibly go with an API computer if I can find someone in Phuket to do this. Right now I have only received info and found info about taking it to Bangkok but that is not really an option due to the time it would take. I know I can go to Kawasaki and have them de-restrict the computer but I am looking for more power than that.
