My wife and I will be moving to either Chantaburi or Rayong in July. It has been a few years since we have been back to Thailand and I have questions about the cost of living in those areas. I have a retirement income of 90,000 baht each month and a little over 3,000,000 baht in savings. Will we be able to live fairly nice without having to dip into our savings each month? Thanks in advance for your comments.

I am retired and married to a Thai. We are moving to Thailand in July but would like to travel outside the country often. Which would be the best visa to apply for based on these facts?

You can get insurance with Bupa Thailand at a fraction of the rate of BUPA international, though the service reflects this cheap rate.
The point of my post is that they ask for no documentation at all, just an address in Thailand. 25,000ish baht got me Platinum cover, with very acceptable levels of cover.
Maybe this could be a way for you to go.
Thanks for the information. I will contact them today.

This is my first post, but have been monitoring for over a year. Planning on retiring in a few weeks and moving to BKK with my Thai wife. Have found more information on visas than I ever expected. Still a little confused, but working my way through it.
Spent much time in Thailand yet?

Have been to Thailand 6-7 times, each time for about 1 month or so. Looking forward to the move. Have spend more than 8 years in Asia over the years.
