    Thai Teachers

    Hi ALL

    Does anyone know any thai teachers in the East London or London area who's able to teach thai to a beginner.

    I been learning spoken thai off and on for many years but cant seen to progress with it.

    I've beeen studying from books and cd's even my thai wife, but not been so successful I

    really think a good teacher can help me with this.

    I just like to wish everyone a merry Xmas and a happy New Year.

    Last year was a good year for me due to the fact my wife was able to get her visa to the uk.

    i like to thank many members on this board especially Scouse, with out you guys it may have not been possible.

    To the guys going through the visa process now good luck and all the best in the future.

    Hi Scouse,

    Have i got this right if my spouse has been refuse for ILR (for what ever reason) the home office won't throw her out of the uk straight away they will give you an extension to her settemlent visa untill she does qualify.

    I think you're confusing the requirements for naturalisation as a British citizen with the rules for obtaining indefinite leave to remain (ILR).

    You are right that a foreign spouse gets an initial 2 years after which ILR is sought. However, nowhere in the immigration rules governing the 2-year stay does it say that the holder must spend an allotted period of time in the UK. When applying for ILR, the length of time spent in the UK then does become relevant because the applicant has to demonstrate that they are settled in the UK and if they have spent a large proportion of the 2 years outside of the UK the Home Office may determine that they are not settled. However, there is no absolute definition of how long the person needs to have spent outside of the UK in order to be construed as being non-settled. It is largely dependent upon the reasons why they stayed outside of the country for so long.

    If the person's visa were to expire whilst they were outside of the UK they would have to apply for another spouse visa at the relevant embassy. If they were in the UK, they can apply to the Home Office for ILR and, providing their marriage is subsisting, they may be granted it, or may be given an extension of their 2-year leave until such a time as they can show they are settled in the UK.

    i didnt realize that eco's may need more than one interview . what are the possible reason for this?.

    If it helps, my gf had initial interview where my bank statements were read, she had further interview 10 weeks later and the Officer advised her to bring up to date bank statements when she returns for the second interview.

    The new bank statements were read by the Officer in the 2nd interview.

    hi all

    Happy Easter! :D

    Just couple of question today, i know it bests to update supporting evidence like bank statements,phone records, letters etc.

    by the time of my wife's interview (may 13th)

    my bank statements will be 3 months out of date,

    do you guys think,

    it will be ok to just submit the last one of the three statements?

    the reason i ask this is because 2 of the 3 statements where produced while being in thailand, and because of being self-imployed this means i haven'ent earn any money for those months (no work no money) but of course spent a great deal. will this go against me if i hand these statements in too?

    im back home now earning again so the lastest one statement should look ok.

    hi all

    Can anybody help me with this?

    My thai wife's mother wants to take my wife's son to austria, does anybody know the requirments to do this? and how?

    My wife's mother now lives in austria with her husband, she wants to help us by taking care of my wifes 4yr old son, until she can settles in the uk with me, this will give us a chance to get appropriate accomadation for us all and to try get into a better financial situation before will try bring him to the uk.

    we are not sure how long she will need to kept him and what type of visa he will need

    my wife will be starting her application for a settlement visa next month. and of course not sure that we get it the first time round.

    We need to make sure her son's going to be in good hands before my wife can go anywhere. my wife has her sister who can look after him in thailand but she much rather her mother, due to the fact that she has a closer relationship with him and also was the person too look after him when my wife had to work outside her city.

    can anyone help?
