I imported a load of HiFi kit, Arcam, B&W PV1D, Sony 4K projector TV, Screen etc two years after retiring here and used an import agent to manage the process. Fees were incurred but otherwise, totally trouble free.

About a year ago, I subscribed to ExaPat Vision and they supplied me with two Mag boxes. The first pair were seized by Thai customs as part of a random inspection. The only way to release the boxes was to get an importers licence from NBTC, so the two boxes were abandoned. However, the second attempt, sent a month or so later and to a different address, was successful and I received my android boxes and have been watching tv through ExPat Visuon ever since. That is, when it works properly!
I have a translation of the newish regulations and Android boxes, and, for that matter, AppleTv boxes, are specifically mentioned and require the proper import licence. Even though, bizarrely, Apple TV boxes are readily available....

Does anyone know if the Bang Saray Club is still open? Went to have a drink there on Wednesday 30 March and the gates were padlocked. I've tried ringing a few times but no one is answering their phone. So, I'm wondering whether the Club is still operating. Constructive comments welcome. Thanks

The basic principle is that you have to pay UK tax on all income arising from the UK. Your tax residence status gives you the option to receive certain income gross, that is with no basic rate of tax deducted at source, but you must still account to the UK HMRC for your UK sourced income unless your total UK based income is less than the UK Personal Allowance. But, be aware, the U.K. Personal allowance may well be reduced to zero in future years.

On the other hand some foods are so much cheaper: Chickens, Pork, Mangoes, Bread and so on. Really, if you're going to live abroad, embrace the changes otherwise, why bother?

Hi,
we brought two dogs in a couple of years ago and once we have cleared the vet checks, the poor guy had been on duty for 24 hrs and kept falling asleep at this desk!, paid the nominal charges for the vet, we took the two dogs through customs and were charged Thb1,000 per dog.
All very simple.
Hope this helps.
