  1. Singha are launching one called Syder Bay but it will only be 3.5%, not exactly Diamond White...

I was reading this article about singha making cider myself just a few days ago..

Getting quite excited thinking it might be ok then came the 3.5% shout,

    what's all that about??? Ridiculous...

just adjust your take eg.12 instead of six.tongue.png

as the self appointed cider waller on thai visa with over 55yrs.experiance of downing the amber nectar[apples] i can honestly say i feel your frustration of missing your favourite tipple.

at this very moment i am studying john keppers and thatchers gold,6% and 4.8%.i hope to get my degree in the next 12months.

not sure are you looking for a long term or a short term supply.if its a long term where you can stock up [5cases min]

get in touch with apple honey[cider in thailand.com] they might be able to help.or you can make a trip to their nearest outlet.

    taffy

Do you get your thatchers gold from the Apple honey company???

I'm thinking that the more that's delivered the cheaper the delivery costs would be???..

  3. hello all,

    Happy Wednesday..

Been chatting last few weeks about cider around koh phangan. Where to get it , in pubs?, in shops?, prices etc etc

Its usually pretty expensive I know but does anyone else on here get cider from anywhere??

Good deal? What type? where? That sort of thing...

I really miss it when I'm here..

Maybe nobody likes it or cares ha ha..

See how the thread goes I suppose..

    Have a good day..

  5. Hi all, smile.png

I come to thailand 3 or 4 months every year,

Having been had for fees every transaction for years one day i decided to do a bit of research into which would be the cheapest way to change from £s to THB..

Sterling travellers cheques is what i came up with...

1% to buy the cheques first of all and 33bhat to change the cheque up in thailand,,

Am i correct or wide of the mark and missing something?????smile.png

    Cheers...

Have to factor in a different exchange rate as well, plus the inconvenience factor if bringing in very large amounts (sore signature hand).

do you mean there will be a difference in exchange rate between withdrawing from an atm and a travellers cheque?????????????

  8. Yes, I can confirm that, after few days of opening several shelves look sadly empty.

Yes we are on an island, so supplies arrive slower, yes the BigC was crowded for the opening days, but I see, as at Tesco, a scarce management.

I love the French products of the Casino brand, cheap and enough quality.

Yes - the Casino brand has a wide range here on Samui too - very good. Let's hope that they keep both Big C and Little C topped up thumbsup.gif

anybody know if they sell cans of cider in this big c?? or anywhere in tong sala for that matter,, im pretty sure they do in samui,.

  9. I have been to Luang Prabang some years ago and as you say things close quite early. ...about 1 am was the latest bar I found. The Gas, believe it or not, were not being shown live on the TV at the time in Asia so I never looked into the late night sports bar opportunities.

I am in Bkk at present so will venture out for a late night beer to enjoy the mighty Gas get stuffed by an out of form Villa side. I'm praying for a miracle but on our current form I'm expecting a little less than that...still it's the FA cup so as the saying goes ''anything can happen''....and on that hopeful note I would ask around locally about the game being shown... you just never know....Good luck !

Got myself a mountain bike today and asked everywhere and got the same response "no chance"..

Oh well, I was gonna make my way back down soon so have booked a bus for vang vieng where i know a bar where it is definitely on....

Cheers brizzle and up the gas......

  10. Can I watch this anywhere, it seems as though its on all over the world and here in south east asia on true or one of the other TV channels...I found out last night that everything closes here at 11:30pm.

And the game kicks off at 12:20am..

Anybody have any idea if it will be possible to watch the game????

  11. Hi all,

I have a flight that arrives in bkk on the 26th of november and the return date is May..

I will not be returning on this date, I will be changing for probably the end of january...

My plans are: travelling up North, then to laos, vietnam and cambodia...

Therefore, can I just get a 30 day visa, stay in thailand for 10 days ,then leave come back in overland (4 weeks later) and get an extra 15 days on top???? (my thinking then is i should have 35 days)

Is it a problem that it says im returning 6 months later???

i hope this all makes sense.

    Regards.
