  1. Crossy, bankruasteve,

    thank you for the advise

Crossy attached is pic from pole outside the shop there is like a big wire protected with yellow pipe to the ground below the pole and next pole looks like transformer.

so is that what you mean that I can do a MEN link?

bankruasteve  the ground wire to rod is white with green tape Thai wiring style

yes as for grounding I think I will leave it as Crossy mentioned condition not so bad

but if it get damaged or worst condition I will change it ( as I think the PEA inspector is ok with it )

Thank you again now I have peace of mine. All my electrical knowledge is learned from this forum and done one project following Crossy advise and others and everything worked perfect

    ????

joke about the so called chang he installed power socket with light switch and I told him its wrong but as you know some Thai changs are stubborn and will not listen. So he finished I showed him that when I need the power socket then same time I have switch on the light switch but i say ok to him because I will check and do correct even sockets wire are not followed neutral and live have labels on the switch but its ok for AC but imagine if DC

  2. Hello,

Please I want to know if it is ok or not

    1. CU not MEN linked ( supply L,N connected to breaker directly, Ground connected direct to ground bus)

    2. two wires connected to 1 neutral bus screw terminal due to not enough space

    3. pigtail to neutral bus due to short wire length

    4. Can I install cutout switch before consumer unit and your advise which type and brand so that I can isolate if work in CU for upgrades

    5. ground wire was connected to concrete ( sockets were all 3 prongs)

this is for shop and my wife said inspection fail 2 times until pass  and connected ( so it passed PEA inspection with no MEN)

I was planning to rewire all

    Thank you all

imagine what will the US Navy will do if they see it on their radar

Navy Captain: Unidentified vessel, please divert your course 0.5 degrees to the South to avoid a collision.

Civilian: Recommend YOU divert YOUR course 15 degrees to the South to avoid a collision.

Navy Captain: This is the Captain of a United States Navy ship.  I repeat, divert your course 0.5 degrees to the South.  NOW.

Civilian: No.  I say again.  YOU divert your course 15 degrees to the South.

Navy Captain: This is the USS Abraham Lincoln.  I am the Commanding Officer of a fighting warship of the U.S. Navy.  Divert your course now or I will be forced to take active countermeasures to protect my ship.

Civilian: Okay, Captain.  I am a seastead keeper.  This is a seatead.  Your call.

  5. In my experience my wife was fined for not reporting me with the TM30 when I did my 1 year first extension of stay in 2012 and they found out (Sri Racha imm.) They explained to my wife that she has to do it every time I came back to Thailand within 24 hrs. And the TM30 receipt of notification must be always stabled to my passport. When I do my 90 days report renewals they always remove my old 90 report receipts but never the TM30 receipt from wife. But When I left the country to go to work the TM30 was removed from my passport at check in counter at airport which I dont know why. after the fine my wife always report me when Im back and its been always like that.

    Ha ha ha!

I see that joke about how how open a bank account in Thailand requires only three items.

They deliberately miss out the details about how you need to visit many banks (often the same bank but different branch) in order to maybe get lucky and be 'allowed' to open a bank account. Each branch makes up its own rules - we all know that from experience.

I bet within five years they'll probably completely stop renewing passports too - via outsourcing or other means.

<end of sarcasm mode for those with no sense of humour>

agree, I visit 5 banks until last one accept me.

  7. Hello,

My Non-O visa stay will end next month and Im planning to extend it for a year.

I have done it before but my problem is that I have to find witnesses every time I have to do it new extension for every new Non -o visa.

and this time I had a hard time looking for witnesses.

Any of the members here have experienced doing it through agents or lawyers who can find witnesses.

my Sri Racha immigration is always strict about this required witnesses.

    Thank you for your times.

  8. Hi Jason my situation was near the same as yours. I applied in HK for a multi Non-O reason married Thai but was given only single. I enquire with the consulate officer that I need to go work after 2 months with my family but she said no multi because I'm visit my Thai family and that I can extend for 1 year in Thailand. So for this single I can stay for 3 months and when I go work it's finished unless extended. So my understanding is either you stay until end of single entry and extend it for a year or go out Thailand and get a multi somewhere they issue but if you back to your home country they still issue you with single like me HK. Try other country if want to get multi but not your home country. I know that for multi you can go and come many times valid for a year which I want also in my case due to work.

  9. Dear Members

My ext of stay marriage will end 17 may .

I will deposit money before that date but it is not enough seasoning time which is 2 months.

May I ask if there is a way that I can extend my stay to 2 months so that it's enough time that money stay in bank before I applied for a 1 year extension?

Thank very much for all your time. Your advise is much appreciated

  10. I cannot tell but you can try and go for your ext. In case rejected it is good to tell your wife to ask them politely how to fix it they will advise you best way. I stayed here 6 years and been through one time not meeting the required money. Then I have to do the process again from start in which to get a non o visa from my home place HK . I know now that it is very important to keep the ext of stay continue because the start process is very stressful when trying to get 2 witnesses. My wife always ask the officer what problem and how to deal with it and she always give good advise. Don't worry the are always ways to deal with things. Good luck!

  11. In my case in sriracha immigration, yes.
My story is that my extension of stay ends June this year.
I withdrew money on March for urgent problem which make it less 400k then deposit again April to make up 400k. So I went to extend on May, a month early as I know I still have enough money seasoned for 2 months till June my extension ends. But rejected on that day which is a month early. I was told to come back on June again to make it 2 months.
So I learned that the money must be in bank at least 2 months on the day of application for extension.

  12. In my case about a ticket out of the country its my real experince not mentioning Australia also where I was allowed by counter staff to check in where i agreed that I will buy ticket out when transit HK. In my experience I think it depends on those airline staff judgement to allow you or not even in SIN just my last signed off was asked and checked my re entry permit which I showed them. In all my cases its really sometimes frustration but I want to stay with my family so I have to comply with a smiling face to everything they required applying for extention here also is a quite nervous because you never know what they want but I always do what they ask for.
