  2. I have a burmese maid working for me for the last 3 years.

She has a PINK id and a 1 year work permit which i renew every year with no problems.

However, when she went back to Myanmar for her holiday, she aquired a passport at Yangon with no problems.

They gave her a 90 day tourist visa which expire 9th October.

What visa does she need nowto stay and which embassy to go, as not a lot of embassy's will help or do visa for Burmese.

Also, does this invalidate her work permit?

I am so annoyed at her, as she had everything on place for the last 3 years and will never need a passport.

As there are only a few days left what can we do?

  4. I have brought my daughter out of Patana this month after 4 years there when the term ended and my daughter will now be going to the new school on 1st September.

I know 7 people who have pulled their children out of Patana this end of term.

After living here more than 4 years i have obviously done my homework on all schools that follow the British curriculum and this new school matches everything i require for my daughters education which is of the upmost importance to us. She is also very happy to go there as she wants to work towards her previous level again.

I live facing NIST and for travel resons it would have ben great for her to go there, however they follow the American curriculum which is what i do not want.

  5. My daughter has been at Patana for 4 years, and despite the name, i would not reccommend it to anyone.

Patana is a lovely school with good sports facilities but as far as education goes my daughter had gone from being top of the class to below average in 4 years.

They wrap the kids up in cotton wool there, and certainly do not pudh the children to their limits.

Patana was a good school once, but now it is a business, they care about money and not the education.

There is a new BRITISH school opened direct on Sukhumvit Road (Soi 53) at the bottom of Thong Lor BTS and it follows the British Cirriculum and is 110,000 THB a term cheaper.

The schoolis called Bangkok Internation prep and secondry school.

    Just my two pennies worth!

  6. Gullivers did show the Germany v Costa Rica game last night and it had English commentry. Think it was John Helm doing the commentry.

It was busy last night in Gullivers so I'd imagine that it will be packed tonight. Best to get there early if you want a seat.

Do they allow Kids (age 13) at night?

  7. Glad someone understands what i am going through - Pain wise :D

I am such a coward with doctors and hospitals and tend to suffer rather than get treatment.

I have had one before about 6 years ago which i had to get drained under general, they packed the wound and i had to have the packing changed every day for about 2 weeks, painful!!!!

This one has blossomed right in the scar of the previous one :o

Yesterday i went and bought some Dicloxapen 500mg and after taking 3 the bugger may well burst (sorry) this weekend.

If not, Monday off to the Doc's :D , wish it was on my arm or leg then i would have no probs :D

  8. Hoping someone can help.

I have a boil/abscess (on the buttock) that is so painful.

    Does heat treatment work?

Should i just get antibiotics from the chemist (flucloxacillin)

Or should i go and get it lanced (dont want to as it is very painful)

    Any suggestions, remedies appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I have a pug and i have had him since he was 8 weeks old, he is now 9 months.

They are excellent family pets, but they do need lots and lots of attention.

They are not recommended for people who work as leaving them on their own all day is not good.

They are the most gorgeous affectionate breed going, and i love my VIGO to bits.

  10. I have a client who is ideally looking for an Accountant who is allready over here in Thailand, maybe doing other work or who is looking to work over here. Ideally it would be an Australian, around 25 - 30, male or female. A full work permit would be given and a 3 year contract would be on offer. The position is based in Bangkok, very near Asoke BTS If you have these abilities please drop me a pm with brief details and a phone number and we can talk some more. It is not an expat salary but on par with local salary. Thanks

I though farangs can't practice accountancy here, its on the cannot do job list.

    Only Thai's can
