I am considering the Elite visa. Currently in Thailand on amnesty with visa exempt stamp. Has anyone got an Elite Visa during the amnesty and how fast it was processed? I'm wondering if I can wait until close to September 26 or if I need to apply ASAP

No, you will need to apply at the immigration office within the Government Complex at Chaeng Wattana.
Thank you.
OP if possible renew your PP, you will then have no problem in obtaining a new TV at Vientiane if required
I only need to stay in Bangkok for another 3-4 months so planning to get a couple 30day stamps + extensions. I will definitely renew before my next trip to Thailand thanks

I've read that it's possible to extend a visa exempt stamp for 30 days at Immigration. Can I do this at the Silom immigration office? I'm American and this is my first visa exempt stamp. I've been here since October on a double entry (which I got from USA) followed by a single entry visa from Laos.
I have this stamp because I was denied a single entry visa on my 2nd trip to Laos. I only had 1 previous visa from Vientiane this year. When I asked why they pointed to a note they left on my passport in 2013 when I did a few double entry visas there. I've read here many times that visa runs from 3 years ago would not affect getting a visa now, but apparently that's not true for everyone.

I plan to stay in Bkk for 3 months at a condo and really need fixed line internet, no 3G stuff. It seems as though I'll have to get 1 year contract then cancel early?
Anyone can recommend TOT or True for Sukhumvit area? The condo agent says I can get either one 15Mbps for 599/month.
How much will I pay for deposit and early cancellation?
Thanks for any info you guys can provide

Haha I recognized the site they meet on https://www.thaibubble.com

Yep, just was curious about a holding fee

Has anyone done this? I dropped off my passport on Friday and went to Vang Vieng for the weekend. If I'm not back on the next business day (Tuesday because of holiday) to pick up my passport is there some fee for them holding it? Will they just toss it in the river if I'm not back in time?

I've heard about people getting cable lines installed to their rooms 20 floors up.
But you're saying I can get 10Mb international with DSL ?
-
I'm attempting to get fiber installed at my new condo. I've been told no already by True and 3BB. I still need to visit the TOT and CAT offices. I'm just hoping for something more reliable and faster than DSL.
1. Are there any other ISPs offering cable or fiber?
2. Anyone here have TOT or CAT fiber in Bangkok? How are the international speeds lately? What plan are you on?
Thanks

In that case, is there an immigration office near the border and is it possible to go take a bus to the border, leave Thailand, re-enter, get a re-entry permit, then leave Thailand again all in one day?
I guess I'm asking if the immigration office is close to the border and if the wait time is long.

So there isn't any way to visit Laos and maintain my 60 day visa upon return?
-
Well I'm going to the border tomorrow, the 11th. But I don't think I want to spend all day at the Immigration Office getting the re-entry permit as I guess it's going to be really busy today. Oh well.

I would like to spend a week or two in Laos. My double entry visa requires me to return to Thailand before April 16th. I will go to the Laos border tomorrow. Is it possible to leave the country, re-enter to activate my 2nd entry, then leave again to Laos in the same day?

Does anyone live in or know which apartments in Ratchada allow 3BB/True/TOT installation in room? Most places I've asked don't allow it and I don't think I can afford a condo in the area.
The rep I talked to at true asked if I was going to be on the 1st floor at my place. Is that usually the case with DOCSIS/cable internet? Am I out of luck with these tower apartments?
-
Any update here? I also use astraweb and am looking to possibly setup 3bb at a new apartment.

Thanks all for the help I guess thats what I'll be doing

could my 2nd entry be a flight to KL and back on the same day?
so fly to Udon, get double visa, extend, fly to KL and back, extend = 6 months
do that twice?
-
Well I'd only have to fly out 4 times for 2 double entry visas.. 4x2300 baht = 9200 baht (bkk to udon)
Isn't ed visa 20,000+ baht just for the tuition? I am trying to learn but using software and friends at the moment

I'm already in Thailand and have 2 weeks left on my 30day.
I have another 30day and one double entry visa I got in 2010. Should I have any issue getting a double entry at Vientiene? Do you mean that flying directly to Vientiene is more problematic than Udon for people with visa history?
-
Also, are there any better destinations for flying visa runs? Penang?
-
I'd like to stay in Thailand for a year.
Am I able to get a single entry visa by flying to KL every 3 months (60+30 extension at thai embassy)? I think I have to stay 2-3 days to get the visa, right?. Will I be able to do this 4 times?
I guess my other option for KL is flying in every month but only staying for a few hours at the airport and coming right back? Would I be able to do this 12 times?
Thanks for your help.
Treaty of Amity Sole Proprietorship

Hello the information I could find on this topic was very old so I am wondering if any American here has started a Sole Proprietorship under the Treaty of Amity and if it is possible to get a business visa and work permit. Any experiences of recently setting up limited companies under Treaty of Amity would also be appreciated.
