Since i got some response in here i would ask one more thing if anyone knows. Are there any organised sports in SDD? For kids that is. Football, muy thai, volleyball, anything at all? I want to get my kids on to some sports. Age 8 (girl) and 6 (boy).

How about skydiving at the old airport just down the road from SDD? That would certainly get you off your arse!
Go skydiving is not the cheapest hobby. I'm trying to find something to do and not spend everything i have.
Skydiving is not to bad after you take your licence, but the licence and tandem jumps is not the cheapest thing to do. I have been up to the place and talked to the guy who works there, but everytime i've been up there it looks like a ghost town. No people, no guest, no nothing

=The true sense of life is, to enjoy as time goes by.=
Teach a bunch of small kids some english in your village. I saw that not far from Sawang in Chaiwan Amphoe
done by a German pensioner outside a small village, when he comes here. Sure for free!
He is an Ex Boxer, even a Amateur Champion to and thought also of teach them some Boxing.
When you give me a PM we can meet somewhere and let us talk what you could do with your ass.
I PM you when i come back from BKK. Fix some visa stuff, god nows how long that's gonna take

Is there any daytime activities going on in SDD? I don't do jack sh.. during the day here and i am looking for something to do. And then i'm not thinking of sitting drinking coffee or that sorts. Some activities. Something that can get me off my ass.

Running it from the background? Every time you pick up the phone on behalf of the business, every time you run an errand for the business, every time you empty a waist basket: It's work !
Who says anything about working? Just setting up a company, im not gonna work in it. Just run it from the backroundYou must do more reading beforehand. Start with "Work-Permit".
Cheers.
But not to worry: Any legal-firm will automatically supply you with a work-permit upon formation of a company (it's all included in the package).
- There are thousands of Farangs working in Thailand without work-permit. It only becomes an issue, if somebody starts to dislike the nose of the Farang (knowing him working without permit) and signals him to the authorities. Big problems on the way for the Farang. Basically: The Farang can be taken hostage by anyone, knowing he is working without W-permit.
At the extreme: A Farang working on "his" farm and selling produce or whatever else, being more than is needed for him and the family would (theoretically) need a W-permit.
Fortunately, have never come across a situation that this was enforced in real life here.
Cheers.
Since i dont speak enough thai theres not to much i can do anyway so its probobly going in my wifes name. But i was hoping there would be some office in Udon somewhere that could help us set it up. And hopefully somebody that could speak proper english so that i know what they where saying.
I have been helping on the farm cutting rice for the last three years. No problem in that area yet, just a lot of pointing and laughing since i always work with no shirt. "Falang cut rice...hahaha".

Any legal office to help me set up a buisness in Sawang Daen Din? (dont think so, but Udon will do).
And anyone know the cost to start up? Either in my name or my wifes name. To set everything up will cost me about 7-800k.
And spare me the lectures saying its a waste of time and to save my money. I have read them all.
Thanks

Anybody been to the immigration office in Sakon Nakhon? The pace and organisation that is there is hard to find!! (yes, sarkasme).
I was there today to get a easy extension. Came in about 11, looked around, nothing organized, no quelines/number, just a mess. Sat down for 5 minutes and then i saw that lunch started at 12 so i decided to leave and come back after lunch. When i came back i saw a couple that sat there before lunch aswell and still waiting, there was 1 guy working, 1 guy! He took the papers, saw them over, stamp them. 1 guy? I sat there from 1 till 3.20 until my papers was finished.
Usually i go to Udon to get my visa done and then it's done in about 10-15 minutes, no matter if it's a lot of people there or not.
And yes i know this is Thailand and pacience and all that, and i'm used to waiting, but 1 guy working? I've been in immigration in Jomtien before and that was ten times quicker with hundred times more people.
No, never again Sakon Nakhon immigration i tell u that!

. Timing is everything. They only had six months to prepare for having a translator at trial... and now that they discovered they don't have one, it will take another six months to find one. .
Yes one would think securing a translator would be close to the top on a list of preparations for the trial.
Almost unbelievable, until you remember where you are.Dokset murder trial postponed for want of a translatorThe murder trial of Stein Havard Dokset was due to continue yesterday but was postponed until August 22 after it was discovered that no court translator was available.
Dokset, accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend Rungnapa Suktong and leaving her remains in a trash bin for months, appeared at Phuket Provincial Court yesterday at 9am.
After a six-hour wait, the judge informed the court that an English-Thai translator was not available.

They had a translator, but Dokset refused, he wanted a different one, that's what they wrote in the norwegian newspaper anyway.

Nam Oon was a nice place, i'll be up there for fishing later. But anyone in here got any tips for fishing in a lake? What bait to use and that stuff? My only fishing experience is from the ocean. Done almost none lake/river fishing before.
-
Nam Oon, looks nice. If the raining stops i'll head out there tomorrow to have a look. Don't got any fishing rod though..

Dutch woman, travelling alone. Goes to a bar alone, gets drunk. Goes up to a guy's room who she's just met.
Bright bulb, indeed.
Thats totally normal in most western countries, just because they're women doesn't make them less horny. What guy in here hasn't done that? I'm just saying.

Nice way to chill out for an evening is a visit to the huge lake/dam south of Phon Khun.....take some beer/food/camera and watch the sun setting over the lake. Beautiful. Going east on 22 take a right in Phon Khun on 227 and take a left past the college.
Boxing is a sport i dislike, Thai or otherwise. Fail to understand how enjoyment/pleasure can be derived from watching two persons face punch or kick the <deleted> out of one another. Sadistic pleasure ?
Yes Kevin2008, I am living in that village at the water reservoir. I am often at the dam. Send me a PM when you drop by next time.
Is that a place for swimming or just a nice view/hangout?

Just went to the Pattaya 3 to have a look. Decent place, but could have been so much more. No people though. Couple of resturants, not much more. Asked if it was ok to go swimming there, no problem they said. Didnt though go to the pool in SDD instead. I think i had more hopes of like a buzzing beach spot ,that got crushed. Hehe

Thai Boxing in SDD, I'll get you the contact details when I am back, a few of them.
Also there is a "Pattaya 4" themed like Pattaya 2 KK on a dam near which I hadn't heard of before nor the wife but she went past it yesterday on the way to Udon, seems to have been there a while too.
Thanks, sounds good.
Pattaya 4? Ive seen the Pattaya 3 on the way to Udon, big lake, many small resturants. Was up there a couple of months ago, no action, but now when the schools start to finish and the temperatures are what it is now i guess its more people there now.

Race course at Udon open saturdays I think but there are two so maybe sometimes more. Motorbiking maybe be Birds Paradise Extreme. You can look it up on internet.By the way have heard golf course development there halted due to ill health of owner.
Birds has ATV and motorbike tracks yes, but i heard there was a motorbike track somewhere close to SDD central. Driving from Song Dao to SDD just before the gasoline station behind or around the temple there. Been around, but havent seen it.
But thai boxing? still havent seen anything around, got a 6 year old thats interested in getting some training.
-
How about different activities around SDD. Racing course, car or motorbike? Thai boxing? Squash?
Think i heard about a motorbike track around somewhere, but the directions i got where a bit dodgy, havent located it yet. Local football team maybe?
