on khaosan road last week the police would do a regular drive thru and clear the stalls off the road at 2am,4am, but the bars kept on serving and the dancing in the street continued unabated,i thought it was all night long already

i spoke to a guy this week that did a visa hop to ankar wat,2 nights stay,the trip he found reasonable price but called it scambodia as he got hit for dollars all over the place by officialdom to get all his stamps

i just got back and tesco lotus are all over as are 7/11,open all night too.its gearing up for some up-market developement soon so go now or you'll miss it. there is a hospital on the island,the trick is to be insured and stay overnight or get signed for an overnight then it dont cost(a few baht for the doc)

i spoke to the developer this week and he's looking to start in 5/6 weeks(he has an up-market bar nearby and they are expecting a busy two weeks in may) but the site is marked out,if you walk down to Siam cottages you can see it and people have been working on it while i was there.i know nothing about the prices but the bhat is a bit topsy turvy right now so if you can buy before its built it will be cheaper than when they are done.also the land on the left hand side was cleared while i was there and a lot of steel rod was being sorted out,this is someone else's development so it would seem that the place is gonna change(shame,but probably inevitable)
