Let's suppose the lottery draw is 3 numbers to win.
Which do you think is a better choice and why? (The letters represent numbers, obviously):
XYZ = You pay 1000 baht
OR
XYZ = You pay 500 baht
QRT = You pay 500 baht
(So you spend 1000 baht per draw on tickets).
Put down the beer and have a think about it.

Isn't it 65 now for the retirement visa?
That's what the Thai consulate in Glasgow is saying. They refused my dad yesterday.
-
The extension is the same as a non-b visa entry so I cannot see the reasoning for not doing the work permit application with it.
If the work permit office is adamant about not accepting the application their is not a lot you can do about it.
Yeah, I agree. It doesn't make sense. I will probably just have to go and do it, or maybe chance my luck submitting the application myself. Maybe a different officer will do it.

The extension stamp is the normal one, not a consideration one.
It says I am permitted to stay until.....
The same stamp I have been getting for many years.
-
Anyone recently used the guarded parking? Still available?
-
Thanks,
I will get back to you about what it says exactly on the stamp when I get my passport back. I didn't know there was an under consideration stamp. The didn't say anything about that either.
The stamp they gave me is dated a year away and it looked like the normal extension stamp. They just said they would cancel it if I didn't fax them evidence of work permit renewal.
It is the Ubon work permit office, by the way.

So, my school just came back from the work permit office.
They said I have to go back to Savannakhet to get a new Non-B visa because the new work permit has to be attached to that (not my extension).
Does anyone know if Savannakhet still do Non-B's on the same day?

So, I was at immigration yesterday to extend my visa for a year (it was the last day of my previous visa extension and also WP).
They gave me the extension, but said that because my WP had just ran out on the same day they need me to photocopy and fax them the WP extension page with the new extension stamp (IF I can get it).
They said if the labour office won't extend my WP, they will cancel the extension of stay they just gave me.
They didn't give me any deadline to fax them the evidence. Obviously, I will do it ASAP.
My only concern is: will the labour office extend my WP even though it has already ran out?
Thanks for any insight

Basically, I need to know what documents are required to get the TIN card? Do I need any documents from my school or just my own personal ones?
Thanks,
I found that link, but I couldn't really understand what it asked for, or to which category I belong.
Would I be classed as an individual or body of persons? The body of persons sounds simpler and it would make sense that I belong in that category since I teach at a school.
So, If I am in the body of persons category, that means I need a copy of:
- passport
- school registration book
- employment contract
Is that correct?
If I am classed as an individual, that would mean I need a copy of:
- passport
- house registration book (I don't have)
- court order?

Hello,
So, I have been teaching legally for about a year now. It is time to pay tax soon.
I don't have my TIN and my school has no clue about this.
I expect I should have gotten it last year, as I got my work permit 2 months before the end of the last tax year, but the school said I didn't need to go as there would be no tax to pay since I had only been working 2 months before the end of the tax year. Though, I expect I should have gone to declare those 2 months income anyway. So, I may be in trouble for not doing that?
Basically, I need to know what documents are required to get the TIN card? Do I need any documents from my school or just my own personal ones?
Thanks

Probably a silly question, but by "spouse" does that mean married? Or would a living partner with child qualify?
-
I found this one
-
Absolutely unbelievable.
-
To be fair, I always found them fine at CW. Even when I was supposed to have copied something which I didn't, they just told me to go copy it and come right back. I didn't lose me queue number.
If a particular office has a requirement try to fulfill it. If that means you update your passbook on the same day every year, so be it - then go for a pint.

Get a job. You have a few years to save. Prathom starts at 6, right?
Find a cheaper school, maybe? It wouldn't be the end of the world.
What is your budget?
You need more reasons to go back to the UK than education. It isn't everything.

Hey,
Sorry, I disappeared for a while there.
I didn't go to that place I was talking about, though I did manage to get some at the garden shop area in the city. One of them got some in after we had asked
.
Bought 2 trees. Fruit on them. Decent size. Lemon shape, but not yellow yet. I think we got the 2 trees for around 400B.
Shall post pictures later, if anyone is interested.
And in case you want to know the place: it's the 1st garden shop on that road opposite 7Eleven (right at the intersection). By "that road" I mean the road with all the garden shops, just off the Ubon-Trakan Road (2050)
Anyway, cheers for all input.

He says he has lemon trees. 70 Baht per tree, apparently.
I will update if this is the case or not after i go there. I was quite specific when I asked him, I'd be surprised if he thinks I am talking about limes.
Lemons do grow here, like I said, the wife's grandmother grew them.
-
Thanks for all input!
I eventually got a response from a lime farm on Facebook who say they have lemons. Here's their page https://www.facebook.com/lemon.numyeun.farm , if anyone is interested.
Will head over there next weekend, I think.

Hey guys,
Sorry, if its a silly question, but does anyone know where to buy lemon trees in Ubon? We have tried the local garden shop area in the city with no luck.
People in our area used to grow them (my wife's grandmother), but nobody does anymore. They are called "stupid limes" by our neighbours
.
Anyway, anyone know a place selling them?
Thanks

You might want to think about driving to a place like Koh Chang or a cheaper place on the mainland like Chao Lao beach. A car is a must if you are in Chao Lao.
Even in Hua Hin, unless you are right in town, or only use public transport (which can be a pain), a car is great. There are so many great places to explore. And you can fill the trunk up with all sort of stuff for the family.
I went to Chanthaburi for Songkran with my family. We stayed at Laem Sing Beach and drove (a few km) to Chao Lao Beach. Both badly littered beaches with pretty dirty water, rather uninviting all in all to be honest.
We hadn't been to the beach for 5 years. Very disappointing. Drove all the way from Ubon. Wouldn't go again.
Islands are your best bet for a clean beach in Thailand.....Koh Chang? Koh Samet? I have never been to either, but something for you to think about.

I feel about 50. I even appear to be going grey and balding. Last time a checked, I was 28.
What the hell has that woman being putting in me tea?
I am not so sure I fall into any of your categories though and I doubt Thailand refers to itself as third-world, lol.
Funny how nobody seems to want to tell their age.
