Bangkok Bank, Central airport branch

Thank you both for your quick replies ... last year I recall just a bank letter but wasn’t sure if anything changed this year ... so you’re suggesting 2 bank letters?
-
I’m wondering whether a bank letter is sufficient for extension based on income or does IO require bank statement as well?

I'm in Chiang Mai & when I went to do my 1 yr extension the IO sent me upstairs to the 3rd floor to get my TM 30 recorded even though I had a copy of the TM 30 the condo manager had already filed. I was also told by the IO that it was my responsibility to report within 24 hrs of entering the country personally at the Immig Office which is contrary to what the law says ... at any rate I dutifully did as I was told & about a month later when I returned from a trip I reported to the 3rd floor to do my TM30 as directed only to be told by the people that it wasn't necessary since the condo manager had already filed online like he always does. So apparently the 1st floor doesn't know what's happening on the 3rd floor ... no surprise there I suppose.

Hmm, well deposit is made from ATM withdrawal using my USA bank card.

So please forgive me but I'm wondering if I show a USA bank statement that shows the equivalent of a Bt30k withdrawal twice a month & a Bangkok Bank statement showing deposits of Bt30k on the same day will that suffice using the combination method ... (Bt200k in BBK account)? Thoughts? I live in Chiang Mai.

I'm not sure who is doing the math, but 423 in 7 days is 60/day which is normal for everyday of last year according to recent reports - why the celebration? Maybe a reduction for this time of the year but hardly worth celebrating & applauding efforts of those who enforce the laws.

As a follow-up to my original post, I must say that my expat friend , that I had dinner with last night, was unfortunately correct ... the majority of replies to this post seem to be negative in nature particularly the 'third world' comment. How unfortunate that no one offered a simple thank you ... I doubt I will post again anytime soon because of some of the response(s). For those who haven't accepted that you live in a 3rd world country & insist on constantly complaining (as I have read on so many other posts), I wonder to myself why do they stay? & why make yourself miserable?
Regarding payment, I thought I was clear ... the US gov't thinks nothing of charging their retired citizens on a fixed income what I consider to be an excessive fee for one piece of paper that I filled out.

While it has been said that this subject has been beaten to death, for what it is worth, I offer the following regarding obtaining a residency certificate. Being told I could obtain one at my american consulate (1,500 baht/$46USD) or go to the satellite office near Promenda Resort Mall (500 baht/$15USD) I opted for the latter. I went today, Friday (10/10/14) morning & once inside, I was directed to office #4. I was told that I needed a copy of my residence contract or copy of drivers license ... not having my contract with me, I obtained a copy of the license for 2 baht. I then was told I needed a face photo which I also obtained there for 100 baht. I presented these items along with my application, orig. Passport & copies of the face page, visa page, TM.6 & page with current entry date. I signed the photocopies & paid 500 baht. I was then told to return the following Monday, 13/10/14, to office #2 to get my certificate. The entire process took less than 1/2 hour. The staff was friendly, helpful, and courteous.
This satellite office also provides other immigration services, notably the 90-report. What else they provide I do not know since i was focused on only the intended purpose of obtaining the certificate.
Hope this info helps. I've also attached 4 photos of the site which is on the south side of Mahidol Road.

This is my first calendar download since my arrival here in Chiangmai & what a pleasant & welcome surprise to see the efforts put forth by others! I simply love the photographs, the date & event summary, etc. ... very helpful. Looking forward to submitting a photo or two myself for consideration in next years calendar. Thanks to all responsible for this wonderful gift.

Yikes … I have yet to get behind the wheel of even a rental car in my short stay here so far & the onslaught of articles regarding crashes such as this is causing me to have second thoughts about driving … period!

Hmmm … interesting responses … as a rule I don't lend or give money due to budget concerns, however, I have lent money to two Thai friends … the one has repaid almost the entire loan (very trustworthy) & the other I forgave the loan due to his circumstance. I guess it's like anywhere else, whether to loan or gift depends on the character of the person at the receiving end.

LOL, I agree wholeheartedly regarding the paperwork issue ... reams of paper to add to the stacks of paper that are perhaps never looked at again. Thanks for the reply & will go today to initiate the process ... I'm due on 16 Dec to extend visa so hopefully going today will provide the time needed.
