  1. I must have the best dentist in Thailand, ultra professional. painless and not expensive. The best part is that she has twice diagnosed other health problems that have shown symptoms in the mouth - one was a vitamin deficiency resulting in glosotis, the second was last week where she told me I wasn't using a fluoride based toothpaste and that I should start to do so, correct in both cases. Sadly not much use in Phuket of course but for Chiang Mai residents the lady is a diamond.

I'm in Chiang Mai and looking for a dentist, could you give me anymore information on the Dentist you mention? English speaking?

    Thanks

  2. I kill them with a bamboo stick, and then throw the bodies outside for all their brethren to see...as a warning.

I also spray around windows, doors, etc. a water and peppermint/eucalyptus oil mixture, which supposedly helps keep away spiders as well. Even if it doesn't work, it smells pretty good.

  3. I bought new 2013 Matte Black approx. 9 months ago, put on 14,000 kilometers so far, Idle Stop always on, no problems. I heard from one other PCX owner that they (PCX) have bad batteries, but I've never had a problem.

    He might've gotten a bad one....maybe I got a GOOD one.post-186966-13915798141676_thumb.jpg

  4. I lived in Chiang Mai for one year (just moved to Hang Dong 2 weeks ago), and while I received maybe a dozen packages, and 2 letters (regular mail) from the USA early on, I've now had 2 letters (with checks enclosed) that have still not arrived. One 2 months old, one a little over a month old. The second one mentioned was sent with USPS tracking, but that shows it delivered to New York, and that's where it ends (goes overseas from there I assume).

If I end up having either, or both of these checks mailed again, I'll have it done via Fedex, or something with full (expensive) tracking. I thought about the protests, too, but I wonder now, really, if it's just ineptness and/or larceny.

  5. My experience (10 months) no codeine, contin available legally. Illegally, I don't know. That said u can buy tramadol OTC, fairly cheap. It's a fairly potent opioid analgesic.

You can buy paracetamol/codeine combos OTC in Cambodia, btw...and in Costa Rica.

I was able to get diazepam at a govt. hospital, because THEY don't do alprazolam (Xanax). Also cheap.

Good idea to bring existing prescription bottles, doctor letter, etc.

I brought 3 months worth of a prescribed med (in the legit Target Pharmacy bottle), which is illegal here, but DID NOT declare it upon arrival. That may have been risky, but I had no problem.

    Good luck.

    MS - Contin

Most defiantly NOT available OTC and anyone attempting purchasing or being in illegal possession would run real risks of long term imprisonment.

Hoping I'm not misunderstood, my first statement was intended to convey "...no codeine, or contin are available legally..." I too, am most "defiant", in fact I just finished watching season one of "Defiance" this evening...
