i haven't seen this many post to a subject since "where's the best pizza" thread! this topic has hit a nerve with the chiang mai farangs. i believe many people have felt this way and now have the chance to express their feelings on this subject. time to check out new horizons. new money.. new honey. let the new influx of asians spoil them for the next 20 years. who else would gladly spent 20,000 baht in a karaoke bar. yeah, the same bars that won't let round eye farangs in!

bad english or not.... she got her point across! for the past few years i've felt more and more thais feel the same way. hey, they now have the asean countries to now support them and they don't need the "evil west". it's dying place for yanks, aussies and europeans. i left last year. hell, it's cheaper for me to live in the states!! i just visit now for a month or so and partake in the local culture and therefore i don't have to complain about meat and cheese anymore.

I love meat, especially roast beef. Recently I went to the newly opened Central Festival Plaza to check out their roast beef price. I was shocked to see that it was sold at more than 1500 Bahts per kilo. Can anyone recommend a better market to buy roast beef?[/quote

slowly but slowly chiang mai slips into the inevitable habits of our neighbors to the south. i already cut down my time in chiang mai to part time and i'm looking for the "next" expat haven. one thing i know they will be speaking spanish there.

Excellent information guys. Thank you. How about a POS system (cash register, credit card machine and such) like you see at the restaurants in the mall... any idea?
Anyone know of a wine supplier?

You have my sincere best wishes for good fortune and success, but I have to ask. With the questions you are asking , did you put any sincere effort in a marketing plan before you jumped into this....... With all due respect lot of this seems like it would/should have been basic common sense before laying out any serious amount of capital.
