  1. To the people saying you cant bring a picnic to the beach here if you're a tourist... EVERY SINGLE THAI RESTAURANT IN THE WORLD DOES TAKEAWAY. The real icing on the cake would be a reasonable amount of trash cans (that arent used for illegal dumping overflowing creating a beaver dam of toxic waste) for said takeaway (alcohol/food) to be disposed of thus preserving newly recaptured beach

    You said it!!!! I agree.

And what was this that Keesta mentioned about tourists expecting beach chairs and vendors to be on the beach when they take a vacation...KEESTA????

I have been a surfer for over 30 years and when I arrived in Thailand I thought that it was very odd that all of those chairs were on the sand. It suprised me. I had only seen that before in Mainland Mexico at a few places that cater to Europeans.

  2. Yup....the Aveo is a gm deawoo lol. The sonic is a new model and its built here in Thailand. My Aveo was assembled here. I'm pretty sure that the Fords are rebadged Mazda's as well....pretty sure.

I must admit that I had a similar experience as that police lady with Chevy service. I had some work done and they left a bunch of loose bolts and didn't secure a plastic cover on the undercairage of my car. I didn't pull a gun or anything but I did drive my car into their carriage and demand that they sort it out, which they did immediately. The last mechanic I saw was a private one.

  3. What about the Chevy Sonic? The base sedan can be had for a bit over 500,000 with mt and just a tad more with at. It's a really good looker as well. I have a Chevy Aveo 1.4, mt that is 6 years old and it runs perfect. My opinion is that the chevy and ford offerings are superior (USA) to the Japanese stuff and have great styling. Just my two bits. Although, I must admit that the Almera and Attrage are a good buy. Jazz is strictly a lady car. I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole.;p

  4. Hi, I have been customising my Chevy Aveo sedan for almost a year and want to take it to a higher level but am having issues finding a good source/shop/retailer. The body kit/wheels/exhaust/sound system/interior is done but I'm loooking for a custom grill, cold air intake, front and rear sway bars and want to get some custom bodywork done (vents or louvers for the front fenders and hood). Does anybody have any suggestions? p.s. here is what it looks like so far ;p I will be driving to Bangkok in March and can check out a good shop then as well. Good workmanship and price are my criterium. Thanks!

  5. I have never been to Samui but I'll bet that the drivers in Phuket are even worse. They are absolute idiots and behave very un-buddist as soon as they get behind the wheel of a vehicle...and don't listen to a word of what your Thai gf will say in their defense...they are idiots and should be disciplined!!!!! If anybody ever hits my car, or me I will beat them badly(if I can still stand) . Just crossing the road on foot here is a rolll of the dice.
