Here's my update for getting my Thai drivers license in Surin, went to Kap Choeng immigration my Thai gf didn't even have to show house document, not sure because we had our 2 children with us all done in about 20 minutes Max, then went to Ruam Phet hospital surin showed passport told me to sit down 10 minutes later was my medical certificate without even seeing doctor, Now land transport department went 2nd floor gave them all docs waited 5 minutes done reaction test sat down another 10 minutes called me up took photo then gave me my Thai drivers license no answering any questions very easy n smooth, only thing was out didn't do my motorcycle license because it was 2 day course so I opted for just car at moment, I am not sure everything went quick and smooth because I had my children and gf with me but very easy, thanks all for information and if you want ask any questions feel free to do...

Great things worked out for you. What was the cost of your medical ?

Cost of Medical was 50 Baht, All I did was sit in waiting room for them to fill out forms no checking me at all, not even a stethoscope on the ticker or lungs, That was preety good and getting my License was as easy as 1 2 3, No sitting for video just a reaction test and colour test all done that cost for memory about 150 baht , So all worked out good for me except for my Thai motorcycle license they wanted me to do a 2 day test, yes 2 days that meant sitting in room doing the full monty I guess, and as I was heading to Bangkok the next day after my license was issued I didn't worry, next time I will do that... Hi all, I have been looking at my settings in my I mobile I q 5.1 and when I go to about phone it does not show me software updates ? I know that if I can see this I can scan for new software as my phone is running Android version 4.1 .2 , it shows me everything but the software updates, can I get some help if anyone knows how I can update please...

I only wamy ATM card and access to internet banking so I can see money I transfer into bank when I go back to Australia for 9 months I don't want passbook and insurance just above items I don't think it's to much to ask for

I went to another kasikorn bank today wanted 10000 baht for passbook 2500 for insurance and 800 for ATM card woah! My visa is 3 month non o and had other docs also, so should I tell them I only want k bank! Let us know I will try tomorrow if you can reply thanks

Tried opening account with kasikorn bank at central festival they wanted 10000 Baht for book 800 baht for card and something like 8000 baht for insurance I have Thai drivers license 90 day non o visa my passport and certificate of residence anyone know where something is a bit less hassle only want card with internet access transfer money and not insurance and passbook thanks if can get some ideas where to go down pattaya

Went to kap choeng immigration took Thai partner with her house book told them I want get drivers license gave them document Thai partner I'd card they said didn't need house certificate??? So they copied all docs I signed my partner signed and the immigration boss signed funny he lives near partner house so not sure that is why I didn't need them you look house book or because I had 2 children with me?? But in and out 15 minutes that was in morning so hope the docs are good they have passport photos attached also,so now I have to get Med certificate do you know if I can do that at any province near surin hope to get license Monday morning reply with any info I may need

Hello I am wondering what is the good I mobile to get now, I have the I mobile I Q 5.1 it is really good as I have had it since September last year and no problems, just wouldn't mind getting a new one , I see one called a blitz ? I think that was it, but as long as it has good Processor and rom and either micro sim card or large built in memory.. any ideas on price as I bought mine at Fortune mall BKK and it was 5670 baht not a bad phone for what it can do and speed, preety good also camera is awesome, I will trade it in so some prices and what would be a newer phone with all the features... thanks

I know I have to get medical certificate bring my drivers license from Australia and international license plus cert of residence with my signed docs of passport , non o visa and last entry stamp, so I will sign those signed docs or do I need to go to aus embassy , Thanks don't want to miss one thing for my license..

I was reading that I need signed copies of main photo page of passport, signed copy of current visa , and signed copy of latest entry stamp... Now do I sign those copies? also read that you don't need passport photos anymore?

Yes my thai partner told me today that her house is in her name, so I may opt for the immigration down near the so called crappy market.. Well I havnt been there so will be good for a look,, Any ideas what are good times to go to Kap Choeng immi office .. Is it better in morning and then I could drive back surin hand them over my documents and all going well give me Thai drivers license, One more thing as my license in Australia is still current will they want me to take some sort of driving test or just answer some questions..

Yes I will have a Non O visa from Thai consulate in Brisbane Australia , As my boy was born in Thailand and his birth certificates is what he said I need to get my Non O visa , Yesterday I got email from Australian consular in Bangkok, They told me to come in with my Thai partners address and as she has permanent residency in Australia as I told him they said come in with address and they can give me Certificate of residence , So could anyone tell me what else I should take to apply for my Thai drivers .. Things I will have Australian drivers license , international drivers license Non O visa, Certificate of residence from Australian Embassy, passport and I know I need medical certificate, any ideas where to get in Surin.. Australian embassy BKK said they can give me cert of residence for my Thai drivers license so I can take that medical report and other documents to transport department in during, my Thai Partner is her address I am using for cert of residence I think should be all good,let me know any other things I should know..

Hello and hope all is good, I am trying to rent pickup from Surin after I arrive off train, Normally I go to Farang Connection but I cant find their website anymore? Have they closed their doors?

I got a email from Thai consulate he said he can give me non o visa which should be good for Thai drivers license as my son was born in Thailand and my name is on his Thai birth certificate if anyone knows if that will work I think birth cert has address on it but I am going on Thai consulate said any information would be good if I can use Non o visa and my son's birth certificate as it does have my name on it. I would say its a site cheaper if you take your GF and her docs and go to Kap Choeng Immigration 60 km south of Surin for the COR. The letter at KCI is only 500 baht.

Can I go to Australian embassy in Bangkok to get LOR? Just wondering because I can use address of my Thai Partners parents home, Is there just a form to fill out and give to embassy with address on it in Thailand? Then do they give me or will not give me LOR? ..

What about the Thai consulate in Australia where I live? Can they or allowed to issue a letter of residence? Just trying to find the way to get this Letter Of residence..

Now I am going to have a3 month visa from Thai consulate in Australia so want to know would I be able to get Thai drivers licens whilst I am there, I will be staying in Jomtien area, Will take Australian Drivers License, my Passport , International Drivers License with me it only has 6 months until expires, I could get letter from my Embassy to verify it is me on my id,s

Only thing is if they want address can I use Hotel where I stay? If not what other ways are around it or what I need to do? It cost me every time I do International D/L so I thought if I get Thai D/L I can eliminate that international D/L as I visit quite a bit and go up country a fair bit also.. Well I am new here and hope to get some advice.. After reading posts about opening up Bank account in Thailand, I read from some people that Banks are wanting W/P !

My question is , When I arrive to Pattaya and only have Dtac phone number , Hotel Address , Passport , International Drivers License, and , drivers License from my country, Would that be enough to open Bank account? Or would it be better to go to my Embassy and ask them for a verification letter to state it is me on Passport to include with my documents to submit to bank !

I will only have a 30 day tourist visa but I could go to Thai consulate in my country and apply for a 60 day visa if that makes things easier?

Reason I want to get Bank account is for purchase condo in next year so wanted to start transfer funds from my country to Bank in Thailand whilst I am working, Then when I come back I will be cashed up and ready to buy.. Any feed back would be good, Any Banks which are more farang friendly than others also.. I do see many people mention Kasikorn Bank ! .. Thanks will read after..
