  1. For those interested, my Maxnet4life is still OK

Glad to hear m8, my 1024/512 service is somewhat Intermittent,

e.g. at least once a day i cant gain any internet access and then when it does return, tis almost 1mb download (expect for international ofc :D ) but still btr than 56k :D

    FYI:

    MySpeed Results

    Download 332,456 bps

    Upload 148,384 bps

    QOS 2%

    RTT 71 ms

    MaxPause 859 ms

    1024/512 "so-called" package

    :o

  2. W000w cheers for the quick reply and juiceh info m8 :D

Hmm i was kinda hoping it was the line and there was a simple solution :o but looks like its still down to contention then?

    ill pester tech support tomorrow...again....

i was kind of assuming tht my download would be around the 900kbps area...perhaps is tht to high to consider acceptable tho?

By the way, considering your line attenuations, I guess your very close to the telephone exchange!

    One good thing then :D:D:D

Thnx for your teccie support monty :D

  3. Seems a tad better after a router reboot and i assume the "brats" are asleep now :o

    Heres what im getting:

    myspeedscreenie.jpg

Still not quite near there advertised package of 1024/512, i wasnt expecting it to be perfect but close would have been nice.

This a screenie of one of my router options on line attenuation, does it look ok?? i gotta be honest and say tht i dont know much about this area.

    lineatt.jpg

    Any help appreciated.

  4. Ah ok well spotted monty.....

Still no call regarding the quality of this line :S

Less then modem speeds on a 2500 Baht/month package

lol and im paying 4000 for a so called 1024/512 rated package.......excuse my language but im getting seriously ****ed off :o

  5. Well got my 1024/512 (maxnet 4 life) upgrade activated last night.....

    This is the results:

    MySpeed Results

    Download 52,648 bps

    Upload 80,392 bps

    QOS 42%

    RTT 86 ms

    MaxPause 2141 ms

i have carried out several tests on various speed test sites and this seems to be the average result.

It appears i was better off on the lower package as this seems worse :S

General surfing is now just pointless as each page is takin 20-60 seconds to load, like <deleted> i pay more and get a lesser service.....

Anyways im at a loss so not quite sure wat exactly im suppose to do next :o

Ive got a Thai speaking friend to contact the tech support and apperently they are testing the line and will get back to me......i wont hold my breath tbh :D

    Logic has left the building.....

  6. Hi kamnan,

Heres a link for the maxnet warning thread, kindly started by monty clicky-clicky

Heres a link (Thnx to buadhai) to TTT broadband maxnet packages clicky-clicky

I'm into torrents a lot and is it true that Maxnet does not allow that?

Yes, this is true the "maxnet 4 home" entry package (790baht) blocks Bit torrent and VoIP ports, but the higher packages do allow the use of them.

    Hope this helps :o

  7. Well sorted my upgrade (1024/512 maxnet 4 life) activated tomorrow (20/07/05), guess i shall wait and see what differance there is :o

    **EDIT**

Ill post back a speed result tomorrow hopefully :D

  8. Cheers for the link Buadhai :D

So whats the upgrade process...just pop along to carrefour? i cant read any thai on the website :o so im unsure if it can be done online.

Im hoping we aint forced into an upgrade and then three weeks after tht "bump" we get told tht we require another upgrade to sustain the speeds tht we get use to.

    Cheers in advance :D

  9. ROFL this is soo pathetic...... some 12 hours since my last psot:

    MySpeed Results

    Download 41,552 bps

    Upload 105,816 bps

    QOS 41%

    RTT 83 ms

    MaxPause 1657 ms

Guess the contention atm is absolute pooh :o

W0W it sux to take it in da ass like this......all we can do is upgrade and pay more for less contention...tht the only way forward then???

  10. Cheers for the heads up Monty,

    **Edit**

Im on the 512/256 maxnet package in pattaya.

  11. Yea, i know the guys you are talking about.....

they are apperently collecting for boy scouts, orphans, and many forms of charities :S

I get the impression thats its a tad dodge when the dude was making out to be deaf and couldnt talk..... and the next day im going by the same part and he is quite happily chatting away to his m8....bizarre....luckily i escaped the free badge u get, but ma bro didnt :o

  12. already done that... still not enough room, stuff that's on there has to stay..

lol by the sounds of it you might want to invest in a second hard drive or an external (bit more expensive mind). That or less g0at pr0n m8 :D tis pretty easy installing a second hard drive too :o

  13. Question: What data rate does your modem show?

My connection status is showing 512/256, i can only assume the same as the other guys here and that TT&T need to sort your line out :D

According to the TT&T sales lady 1mb is going to become available this month, dont know how true that is though, havent seen any advertisements :o

  14. Hi Ron,

I have just setup my 512/256 maxnet connection, i also had similar problems with the ommunication barrier.

Heres how ive got mine setup :o

TT&T (carrefour office, pattaya) arrangd new line and adsl activation.

    Provided me with a username and password (e.g. adlxxxxx@maxnet & a password).

Guys turned up installed the line and i added the adsl splitter.

I had brought my own router from the UK (DG834), after going to its login panel, not sure of your zoom router, but in my case, i login through a web panel using the address line hxxp://192.168.0.1 and enter the routers username and password.

From your web panel you should hopefully be able to enter your provided user details from TT&T and what connection type,

    >in this case its PPPoE,

    >obtain ip/dns dynically from isp

    >my mtu is 1492 (pppoe)

    adsl settings are

    >LLC based

    >VPI 0

    >VCI 33

Unless of course your zoom router has a "auto detect connection wizard" like my netgear and does all the work for you, simply add your username and password for maxnet.

im assuming maxnet is a kind of "no-frills" connection, no isp homepage or email addresses :D just plug n' play :D

So far it has been reliable, was down for an hour soo, and i hear 1mb is coming soon :D

Hope this helps........and i aint missed anything

    Good luck.
