Try tilting the antennas, so that the the long sides are parallel to each other.
If you are upstairs, your downstairs antenna should tilted so the side faces toward where you are working. Likewise your upstairs antenna (if you have one) should tilted so the side faces toward the downstairs antennas.

Trendy don't do the letter, you need it from the Consular Section of the Embassy in BKK, but note that they shut at 11:00 for applications.Cross Post http://www.richardbarrow.com

Hi After ten weeks my passport is ready to collect at trendy bangkok
i have read that a letter is required for imigration to transfer your
extension of stay to your new passport. Can i get this at trendy when i collect my passport or is it an embasy trip. Thanks . pete
I did mine by purely by email, they need scans of old/new passport ID pages plus details of current extension, last entry to Thailand, last visa, re-entry permit. address.
Transfer letter pro forma was sent by next day EMS to my home address.
Not all Immigration Departments ask for this letter.
Kap Choeng never asked for it, best to get the number of your IO and ask what you need first.
Thank you all, I have cross posted your replies so he can read them direct. I tested that for read only the cross post should work.

A timely article in that the Australian government is being accused of refoulement of Sri Lankans, thereby breaching the UN Convention for Refugees.
The Oz government is refusing to acknowledge the alledged interception of boats carrying 150+ Sri Lankan Tamils from camps in India and handing them over to Sri Lanka naval vessel/s. The PM is saying no problem as Sri Lanka is a "society at peace" when it is constantly reported that Tamils refugees, upon forcable return, are subject to torture and other abuse by Sri Lanka security forces. Tamils interiewed in India were unaware of the Oz government "PNG Solution"
If they went from Sri Lanka to India then they have reached a place of refuge as per the Convention. Travelling to Australia since then makes them illegal immigrants. End of story.
Yep India is a signatory to the UN Refugee Convention. Oz government return of the Tamils to Sri Lanka, instead of India, I repeat, is refoulement in contradiction to the Convention.
The ship sailed from India to Sri lanka and picked up Tamils who then sailed on toward Australia. They were free in Sri lanka too move around at will but chose to leave in the hope they could claim refugee status in Australia. They where not refugees but a group who hoped to set up a terrorist cell in Australia so as to plot against the Sri lankan government. If they where sent back then good riddance to them. The Tamil Tigers are a murderous bunch of thugs.

We all do silly things only some of us get caught.35 years ago as a young man I got myself on trouble with the law and ended up with a criminal record....I'm from the UK. Will this preclude me from ever getting a Thai retirement visa ??? Thankyou all
Unless you committed a capital crime you no longer have a criminal record due to the time expired. You are not asked for proof of no criminal record when applying for a retirement visa.
-
A retirement Visa is for 1year and can be extended on the due date for another year and so on. That Yearly date is very Important. So if you got a retirement Visa 29th June 2013, You must report on 29th June 2014 for renewal. If not a years renewal may not be granted. This happened to me twice. (I was out of the country for more than a year). Both times the same Immigration officer made an exception for me. Not worth trying your luck IMO.
If you got a retirement Visa 29th June 2013, You must report before 29th June 2014 for renewal.
Extension of stay is permitted up to DATE .
Holder must leave the kingdom within the date specified herein, offenders will be prosecuted.

To be fair there is concern with Ian Plimer's theories of a cliimate change hoax.
See the video "Ian Plimer's volcano claims vaproize under questioning on Australian TV" where Plimer airs his weaknesses with inaccurate statements on science and "bullying" among academics.
http://www.theguardian.com/environment/georgemonbiot/2009/dec/16/ian-plimer-versus-george-monbiot
So Ian Plimer got some things wrong about a complex subject. Any one that has actually read the leaked emails from the East Anglia Climate Research Unit knows that the whole catastrophic climate change movement is a nasty hoax by a bunch of politically motivated crooks.

“A woman showed up after the raid and told police that she and Mr Coutelas were dating,” added Col Suttichai. “But we did not press charges against her, as she was not present when officers searched the apartment.”
Gosh! Lucky for the girlfriend.

Great service, from very friendly and competent officers, and it made my day.
What a breath of fresh air they are. Couldn't be more helpful.

Life outside of BKK is normal? Forcing me to stay in my hotel room after 10pm is normal? Yeah, amazing time to travel here.
The trick old chap is to get locked inside an enclosed bar.

If have to travel a long distance to Trendy for British passport renewal, consider yourself stuffed.

This an information booklet sent to me via the British Consulate in Thailand when my brother topped himself. It might be of some help.

Also, to let you all know it is 110.86GBP for a jumbo passport. Not the 114.01GBP that Trendy/website/email links tell you to fill in on the payment form.
So they are givng the out the wrong amount on the official site? That's just criminal.
So what amount do I fill in then or best just leave it blank until you get there?
Does that amount include courier fee?
It includes the courier fee.
Fill out the card details section and leave the amount boxes blank until you get there.

Here's hoping someone found Mr Atkins' brother before he himself saw the note and the article it accompanies splashed all over the news.
Thank you for your kind thoughts. Philip had a troubled life. The note is undoubtedly authentic. Although we were far from being close it is none the less sad to see him die in such sad and unhappy way.
Poor sod.

I don't get this.
Making your application
You must apply in person. If you’re unable to, someone else can go on your behalf. You must bring photo ID with you.
Surely my passport is photo ID. If I’m applying in person is my passport not enough?
