  1. Thanks a lot to everyone for the replies and advice.

I am trying to negotiate a rebate on the bill as this seems to be the only fair solution.

Indeed getting against them would be completely useless and probably less productive.

So far they have agreed for me not to settle the bill until I see the new meter installed, as they had to admit that leaving us with a burned meter on the wall for more than a month doesnt make any sense.

Thank you again for your time.

  2. Finding myself in an uncomfortable situation. Hope somebody can give advice.

Last Dec 16, the 3-phase meter outside my restaurant (it's a 3-story shophouse) exploded because of an internal malfunction.

MEA came almost immediately to bypass the burned meter and connect the house cables to the main electric braker directly with the street's 50mm cables.

Now, after 5 weeks and numerous useless calls, the new meter still hasnt been placed. Burned one is still there.

However, the electricity bill arrived, and MEA is asking me to pay for an amount which I understand is based on previous months' consumption.

The issue is that during the month of Dec 2014 we closed the restaurant for 1 week, and therefore the consumption is definitely lower that what I am asked to pay.

    So my question is:

Is there anyway to pretend for the bill to be revised so that I am charged an amount closer to what I actually consumed?

Payment due date for the said bill is already overdue, and I have told them very clearly that I won't pay one baht until I see the new meter in place. To which they had to agree.

But if there was any chance not to pay an overlycharged bill based on retroactive consumptions it would be better.

    Any thoughts? Thank youpost-203556-14219196813409_thumb.jpg

  3. Hi, i'm also interested in buying the box since it seems to be the only "safe" solution for watching the world cup games without having a nervous breakdown because of bad signals or such

i think I have a different problem. i stay in a condominium where I dont have my own satellite dish. there is an antenna plug in the wall, and if I plug it to a true tv box it works just fine. question is: can I just unplug the true tv box and plug the antenna cable into the rs sunbox? will it work?

Today at central I had a close look at this box. They say many channels are HD, but the box doesn't have any HD output, only simple AV output.

I am not an expert in audio visual technologies but I guess that a real HD channel would require a hdmi output?

been thinking of these iptv boxes as an alternative, but I cant find enough reviews about it, reviews that are not an advertising. any advice or comment on this?

    thank you

  4. We have not gotten any reports of anybody not getting stamped back in yet. There is even an ongoing topic about that crossing.

If it was me I would go out for a single entry tourist visa. I would say it will be some time before you will be able to go out a non-b. You will need a letter of approval for a work permit application before you will be able to get it.

Thank you for the reply smile.png

Which embassy/consulate would you recommend to apply for the single entry tourist visa? what would I get, 60 days?

  5. Hi All,

my 30-day visa exempt will expire soon (obtained by land crossing near Kanchanaburi), and I would like to know what are my best options to get back in.

before this current visa exempt, I had another 30-day visa exempt but entering with plane. before that, I had been on Non Immigrant B visa for over 2 years.

I understand from recent posts about the new immigration rules, that doing an in/out by land could be risky.

What if I just fly out (say to Cambodia) and fly in the next day?

Also, I am currently registering a Limited Thai company that will allow me to apply for another Non Immigrant B visa within the next 2-3 weeks, as I will open my own business and will be able to apply for it with all required company paperwork.

Should I bring with me some kind of proof such as bank book or other documents that can prove that I am about to regularly and legally work in Thailand and run a business?

Would be great if someone could help to clarify above doubts.

I know that there have been numerous topics and posts about this, but I couldn't find one that would answer above questions.

    Thank you,

    Diego
