It was 45 days.  Check with immigration.  Dates of expiry etc remain the same. Ext 1 year from that date.

Got inside to counter then:

Problem was the copy of the bank book (savings account).  It must be now updated on the day of the extension.  Although the update on this day would show the same as the previous day without any proof of date of update.

Would not accept internet check.

Apparently this is due to people trying to scam the system?

Had to go back to the bank which didn't open till 11.  Tried to explain what I wanted.  Deposited 20 baht to show the correct date.  Bank was very good and redid bank letter at no cost. (Thanachart TMB bank Big C Hangdong rd)

Note Bank letter valid for 7 days.

Went back after the lunch break. 1300hrs.

Process was fast and efficient out in under an hour.

Apart from having to go back to the bank, vast improvement over previous years.  Although covid has vastly cut the numbers at this moment.  Kudos to staff and helpers. Well done!

See what happens next year.

I really just want to know what time is acceptable to show up for the que now, as before it has been that I went at all ungodly ugly times through-out the early morning over the years, and next would be do they require the statement from the bank to have to be on the same day or can be day before (besides bank book update on the day), and lastly the map and their idiotic having to be on their printed page. Mostly everything else is the same and straight forward I believe.

No, it is not normal. Regardless, the owner he can give a letter of authority and a copy of his passport to someone, and they can go to the district office at the end of Sukhumvit Soi 55 (Thong Lo) and get a replacement for a very small fee. It is definitely better to do this while the gentleman is still alive, as when he is deceased it will not be quite as easy.

 

Practically, you should:

 

1. Have a duplicate key and access card to his condo.
2. Know exactly where the will is
3. Know exactly where the chanote is
4. Know exactly where the car registration book and keys are
5. Make sure all building common fees are paid and up to date (If they are not then someone will have to pay the fees and then somehow get the fees back at a later date).

For the computer and good HIFI gear buy a Linear Line Conditioner basically a black power box that protects from surges plus its useful it tells you the line voltage. Electricians I have had many come by that i test. I give them an AVO meter and ask them how they use to check phase neutral voltage for 3 phase power. When i get that dumb look I send them away.

Their have been no changes to the rules for 400k baht in the bank option for an extension based upon marriage. It is still 400k baht in the bank on the date you apply. But many office want proof the 400k baht is still in the bank when you go back for the one year extension stamp after the under consideration period. After that you can do whatever you want to do with the 400k baht until you top up your account for the next extension.

What is the latest with the money for the spouse extension after applying?

I know the retirement extension has been changed, having to leave various monies for the year.

Simply can I spend it straight away and reseed in time before the next extension?

TM30 Online registration.

I can figure most of it out except what documents have to be sent with the request.

Help pdf in Thai. Asked immigration and they were not sure. Then one reads that they held up because of incorrect documentation.

Changmai.  Need the bottom of the tm 30 for the yearly extension.  Never had one before.  When you go to get the tm 30 done they fine the Thai 1600 baht.  They don't care.  She should have known is the standard reply.

I have USED JIB in the last couple of computers.  Check out there website for prices.  All in Thai but easy to figure out.

Instead of  SDD use an m2 card.  Most new MB have a slot fit the card.

  About the same price now.  Kingston make them now.

Best thing about JIB you don't pay till they get it working.

Fleas will also live on people.

It's not only Chiangmai they are every where.  There are also water rats which I hear are quite tasty.
