I got a Double-Entry visa in Laos almost 3 months ago, and soon I'll have to exit the country once my 3rd-month extension ends.
My plans have changed and I will be spending some time in Malaysia, thus I won't be activating my 2nd entry right away through a border-run.
My questions:
- Is not activating the 2nd entry right away -and spending time outside of Thailand- permitted, and still have a valid 2nd entry?
- If so, how long can I spend outside of Thailand in between entries?
IMPORTANT: I would rather hear from those with direct experience in this matter.
Thanks in advance!

I got a double entry visa on March 31st, and I was told that after 2 months I can extend it for 1 more month.
And after this, I need to go out of the country to activate the next entry for 2 more months.
Is this correct?
If so, when is the deadline for me to extend it, on May 31st (March 31st - May 31st)?
Or is it 60 days?
Thanks in advance.

I am going to Vientiane to get a double-entry tourist visa next week.
Is it possible to get the visa done same day?
Thanks!

My ED visa didn't expire some time ago - my passport shows: 'valid until"/Length of Stay Until 31 MARCH 2015).
Last time I didn't get an extension at Inmigration, I actually went to Myanmar and the border-crossing acted as an extension, which means it's still valid.
The date of termination of language classes is different from the the length of the ED visa, right?
I am certain your ED visa expired some time ago an you are now on an extension of stay you applied for at immigration.
You need to leave the country on or before the date that is on the letter from the school because that is the date your extension will end.
You can apply for the tourist visa on the date you leave the country if you want to.

Hi all,
My ED visa is up on March 31st.
I plan on going to Vientiane to get on a Tourist visa, crossing the border at Nong Khai by land, and apply for a double-entry visa at the Thai consulate.
I have already received a certificate of attainement a.k.a termination letter from my language school, with a termination date right before the 31st.
I just want to make sure that I am not missing anything so I don't get stuck at the border.
Also, Do I need to wait until April 1st to apply for the tourist visa? (my ED visa lasts til March 31st).
Thanks!
P.
PS. Mario2008 I'd appreciate if you chime in.

I want to get a Double-Entry tourist visa in Yangon.
Can anyone confirm whether double-entry tourist visas are being issued by the Thai consulate in Yangon as of end of 2014/beginning of 2015?
Thanks in advance!
PS. Please only participate if you have direct experience/knowledge in being issued a tourist visa by the Thai consulate in Yangon.

So basically, from what you guys are saying it comes down to 2 options:
1. Get that letter and leave on the date it says you are no longer attending classes, if specified.
2. Leave on the last day of the extension (should be the same day the ED expires), and no need for any letter, as the extension already runs out on that date.
Ok thanks guys!

Hi Mario,
I am not sure I understand the "If you need to cancel it depends if you are on an extensions of stay".
Do I need to cancel my ED visa before it expires?
You mention the extension of stay. Do yo mean that I can extend my ED-visa past its expiration date, or are you referring to the 90-days extension?
-
My ED-visa is coming to an end, and I will not renewing it/getting a new ED. I will however get a tourist visa for a few more months before I come back home.
I don't trust my school, they are very disorganized, so I ask here:
- Do i need to to just exit Thailand at the date of expiration of my ED visa? Do I need to cancel anything?
Any specific advice on thimy question would be appreciated.

Too many people stating that it works -or that it should work- on IE.
I dare any of you, or anyone for that matter, to prove that it works and that you actually managed to send through the 90-days report.
Otherwise, it's best to keep quiet and not mislead people.

Other tan Mario, it seems the rest have no idea what you are talking about.
If you are not on an ED visa and have experience with 90-days reporting via mail, it's better you refrain from commenting. Otherwise it's just bullshit.

Can you elaborate on this?
If it's not an address update like the others say and as it seems the general idea, what is it? A plain extension?
There is no address reporting on ED visa in case you do the standard 90 days extensions

Thanks Mario.
Do you send the notification to a particular officer with your school's provincial inmigration office?
Do you state you current out-of-the-province address, or your original address in your school's province? It is what I normally do when I am outside the province where I live.

Hi all,
I have an ED visa from a school in Southern Thailand.
Currently spending a few weeks break in Northern part of the country.
90-days address update/report is up in a couple of weeks.
Is it possible to do the 90-days address reporting via registered mail as of August 12th 2014 (to the inmigration office in the province where my school is located)?
Only serious replies, thanks.

Thank you all for the replies.
I understand I must use the 2nd entry before the date assigned.
That 2nd entry would give me 2 more months with option to extend 1 more, correct?
