I understand that links and quotes from the Bangkok Post aren't allowed here, but I thought I'd add that 3 of the 5 published letters to the editor today were critical of the Koh Tao prosecution, which, given the minimal coverage in the local media of the case, was remarkable.

I can also vouch for the mini golf at "Angkor Put". Good clean fun with a lazy beer and some cool old music too. They gave our tuk tuk driver a free round as well so everyone was happy.

Hi all, thanks for a lot of interesting photos..Some of my favourite spots in Isaan:
May I please ask where this is? It looks awesome!
Cheers.
Hrmm I wasn't sufficiently eptitudinal to successfully quote the pic.
It's the giant gold Buddha with the green Hills in the background and the hundreds of smaller gold statues in the foreground.

Thanks Rob, I agree, it is a lot nicer over here :-)Welcome to the forum, Ant0. It's good to see new folk joining. It's a haven of peace and tranquility, not like that nasty General forum
Hopefully you'll be posting your own shots soon and keeping us captivated. (I don't see Etans where I am in the centre of CM. I must venture a bit further out soon!!)
Unfortunately I'm stuck in a faraway land for a while, I found this thread by living out my travels vicariously via the photography forum, so I can't see myself contributing anything of value for quite some time. Can I ask what cities/provinces you guys are finding these fertile Etan hunting grounds? I might have to add some further afield destinations to my next itinerary!
Also, if you haven't done so already, I found searching for something like Thai Etan on YouTube pretty entertaining, more so if the Thai language suggested clips are clicked on..
Chok dee!

Hi, new here, first post and all, apologies if quoting a pic is sub kosher. Anyway I've been working thru this excellent thread for a while, what a fantastic subject, fascinating engineering and brilliant fodder for some skilled photographers such as yourselves. As much as I do like the character of the older working class examples, how sweet is the condition and finish of this one. Surely a proud owner!
Anyway, thanks for your combined efforts here, a very enjoyable thread..

My etan pics. They're rather low quality photos, but they're the only 3 pics of etans I have taken.
P.S. the etan thread was my favourite one on TV. I'm saddened to see it has been locked I got a few good years of interest and entertainment there, so a big thanks to the folks who made it so cool.
