Actually not such a bad idea to bring in changes on a step by step basis:
- License free from now to 30 June 2019.
- Caught no license from now to 30 June 2019 - fine 1,500Baht. Not paid within 30 days add 20Baht a day, etc.
- Caught no license after 30 June 2019 - fine - 5,000Baht. No paid within 30 days add 40Baht a day. Not paid in full 60 days go to jail not released until all fines paid.
Or something similar....
And:
After 30 June 2019 maximum fine - 5,000Baht.
Second time caught - 10,000Baht
Third time caught - 10,000Baht and 7 days jail
etc.
Agree with reduction and staggered penalties. Might add to this 'confiscation of motorbike or vehicle' for 7 days or to be recovered 2000 baht. This may make parents react if family vehicle was going to also be taken away.

Jimbo1964's got it.....obviously a Fire Evacuation Plan didn't exist or no regular training and/or annual Fire Drill conducted. When will these factories learn not to cut corners on personnel safety.

I think this is the first of many ‘soft’ pleas that will be made to allow Taksin to return leading up to the election as some offset to not interfere with Prayut’s plans or the election. I have no doubt Taksin will return, and, will never do jail time.

Why is this poll given any credence or headlines at all.....1250 people polled out of population ~69 million or 0.0018%.....enjoy the water splashing....!!

Why is that the Thai Police 'fall over themselves in haste' to assist Interpol and seek public acclamation for arresting 'foreign fugitives' but can't see the irony in failing to either arrest 'the Boss' when he visits Thailand or seek same Interpol assistance / extradition....I know it is a rhetorical question but needs to be continually asked.

Disgraceful....and could be such a focal point of the city and local island travel.

I wish all traveling to see loved ones a safe trip and return....for me, I am giving the roads up to others and staying safe at home..!

It could be argued that Thailand needs a 'benevolent autocratic' system for a decade or so to weed out the apathetic two party system and inherent corruption, which in conjunction with lack of 'learned' education is holding this country back. If this means having a military backbone and democracy is less than expected in western countries [and the value of their democracy is debatable], then so be it.

Beggars belief that UK Consulate is not monitoring the situation as to life expectancy of the ill sister and advising the family. Unless there is sound medical advice that the sister is clinically dead, turning of life support as a solution to mounting debt seems to be a callous decision.

When will Dhammakaya followers accept that 'returning 400 million' does not absolve the accused's responsibility for the crime, but, may be considered in mitigation of the penalty [if found guilty in a court of law]

The owner wins....insurance claim probably greater than market resale value, and/or, no need to comply with costly disposal [presuming disposal would have followed legal disposal compliance dictates for recycled electrical parts].
