As long as you like, there is no time limit. Probably coinciding it with 90 day reporting or annual extension makes sense.... whichever comes first. Traveling in the meantime is not an issue.

I have a quick question.  I am going to have a new extension based on my work as the new company insists that I do  ( Currently on extension based on Thai wife). 

1.  During the evaluation period where does the immigration send people to verify the genuineness of my application -to my new place of work or the home address ?

       My work place  and house addresses are different . So just wanted to confirm where the immigration officials will show up. 

2.  What is the process for change of reason for extension ? Can I just show up at the immigration with all the new documents before the expiry of old extension ?

Hi Everyone,  I have just changed my Non B extension to extension based on marriage ( Thai Wife) .      I  joined  a new school and now they are asking me to change my extension based on marriage to be based on Job (Non B).   

Question-

1. Can I change my extension back to non B based on job,  even though I just changed my extension to Non O (extension based on marriage )?

2. How many times can I change my extension of stay from Non B to Non O (marriage) and again to Non B without leaving the country?  

3. Can I change back to Non B extension now or do I have to wait till my Non O extension expires?

Can I use the Work permit application receipt (WP1) to get one year Non B extension or do I need to wait for the actual work permit?

My experience of cancelling my work,permit and visa extension :

My last day of work was 8th June 2016 according to the letter issued by my school. I went to cancel my work permit on 1st June. The lady cancelled my work permit and after putting a stamp and signature gave me a copy of the cancellation form that I submitted. She asked me to go to immigration right away and warned that I could be fined if I did not go to the immigration the same day.

I went to the immigration right away and the officer put new stamps cancelling the old visa which was still valid until September 2016 and put a new date saying My new extension expires on 8th June.

She said I could continue to be in thailand upto that date i.e. 8th June.

Is it possible to get a 60 days extension based on marriage to a thai on a tourist visa on arrival ?

If so, are there any requirements such as minimum 21 days left in the visa etc.?

You could do it in Bangkok if you have proof of residence for there. A rental agreement or your wife's house book with a Bangkok address would be needed.

I suggest you go to immigration a few days before the date on your termination letter and they will will postdate the cancellation to that date. Doing that would give you a little extra time.

Hi everyone, I need a quick info. My non b visa extension (teaching) is about to be cancelled on 31st March as I am leaving the job. I am working at Samut Sakhon and moving to Bangkok. My Thai wife works in Bangkok and live there. My question:

Can I get 60 days marriage extension at Bangkok immigration though my work is in Samut sakhon?

I plan to do it on the same day. Cancel wp and visa at samut sakhon and go to Bangkok to do the extension.

When you get your cancellation letter then heed straight to the border as you have your new documents already. You can cancel your visa in Nong Khai or Mukdahan. In Mukdahan the immigration office is only about 500 meter from the border.

If you have not bought your flight ticket yet then you can take the bus, there are direct buses from Chang Mai to Nong Khai and I think to Mukdahan too.

So, after I get the documents from the new school ( in a different province) and cancellation letter from the old school

Can't I just cancel my visa in the immigration of the new school ( different immigration office not the one where I got my extension ) and on the same day apply for extension of my Non B. with the new documents

without having to go out of thailand?
