I was vaccinated at Phyathai 2 on 14 June.
(1) What is parking like at the hospital? (I don't live near public transport so will have to drive.) And if not at the hospital, are there perhaps shopping malls nearby where I could park and walk to the hospital? I took the BTS, guessing there must be parking at the hospital. Why not call them.
(2) At the hospital, is where you need to go clearly signposted? Yes, it was right at the main entrance. I received an SMS from the hospital, the day before, telling me where to go.
(3) Is this completely free? Or will there be hospital charges to pay? Completely free, hospital also provided free drinking water.
Any other tips much appreciated.

I was vaccinated June 14 (yesterday) at Phyathai 2 Hospital.
1. Was your appointment deferred? No
2. Was the hospital able to find your appointment in their database? Yes
3. Was any extra documentation needed besides passport and appointment slip? No
4. Were you able to select your choice of vaccine? Yes, specified AZ when applying online and that is what I received.
5. After getting your first jab, was there an appointment set for your second jab? If yes, when? Yes, in 16 weeks.
6. Any other useful tips? The OIC DDC sent an e-mail and the hospital an SMS the day before the appointment, approving it and giving instructions on what to bring and where to go. It took longer than expected, arrived 2:30pm and finished at 5pm.
Note that I was registered through the thailandintervac.com "diplomats" option and most of the 40 or so people in my 3pm vaccination round were foreigners and appeared to be embassy or UN staff.

I registered, booked, and received confirmation yesterday on the intervac site. NOTE: I was pre-registered on a special quota for diplomats and others. The system was not working for me until after 3pm. After multiple attempts, I got a next day appointment for AZ vaccine. The screenshot below is what one gets after a successful booking. This was followed few hours later by a confirmation e-mail with a PDF file to print and bring to the hospital this afternoon.

Any updates? Are autochannels usable at Don Mueang Airport (DMK) for PR holders successfully registered in the system?
I flew to Saigon on 30 May 2019 and can confirm the autochannels are not usable at Don Mueang Airport for PR holders successfully registered in the system at Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Does CNX have Auto-Channel machines for Thai passports yet?
DMK (and Nong Khai, I believe) does have them but they still can't be used by a PR that has registered at Suvarnabhumi.

Successfully registered for the auto-channel today prior to departing Suvarnabhumi. My first attempt one year ago failed due to "the computers being down". The immigration counter is on "the other side" but the attendants at the auto gate let me through to fill out the form. Required an ID card photocopy of a Thai referee. Took less than 30 minutes and once completed I officially passed immigration through the auto channel. No stamps and I was told no need for the departure/arrival card.

After going keto, I have switched from chicken eggs to duck eggs which are more nutritious and have a higher fat content and taste better. KCF free range duck eggs sell for 46 baht a 6-pack in Foodland.

I received my first white book two months ago. It took three full working days to process at Chaengwattana. There had been a change required for my house address and this may be why it took so long. Needed photos and household registration. My alien book needs renewal in April 2017 but I was still given the full one year endorsement.

The dealer we visited last weekend had 6 new 2014 Mazda3 hatchbacks ready for delivery to customers and at least two were the 2.0C Sports version (leather seats, infotainment system,16 inch wheels) but none were 2.0E Sports (base model).

So which option did you take ?
We went with Option 1 and got a slightly better deal at a different Mazda dealership, Sukhumvit 65. They gave us 3M film, 1000 baht cash (for gas), and threw in a free car cover and floor carpet mats. The rear sensors are out of stock and we will need to get them installed later. Drove to Mae Hong Son and back to Bangkok last week and I am very pleased with the vehicle and can highly recommend it.

Nice ride Spinning Dwarf. On a different note, if anyone knows a way of turning on the daylight running light function let me know. I will ask the dealer next time I bring the car in but in the meantime........let me know. Thanks.
turn it on or off ?
I want to know how to turn it off.
Spoonman, found this in one of the better Mazda forums.
HERE'S HOW TO DISABLE DRL'S:
SETUP:
1) car set to ignition (car is active, but engine is off)
2) press brake pedal down and hold during the whole time
3) parking brake up
START:
you have to do the whole process once you start under 23sec.
4) turn parking light on and off 5 times. on - off - on - off - on - off , etc.
under 2 sec start #5
5) turn hazard light on and off 5 times.
under 2 sec start #6
6) turn parking light on and off 5 times.
DONE:
7) to check if the DRL still comes on, simply disengage the parking brake. If it doesn't come on, then you're done. Otherwise repeat the process again.

Finally took delivery my Mazda 3 after a two month wait. First extended trip was last week from Bangkok to hilly Mae Hong Son province, 900 kms each way. The handling was excellent on the steep and winding roads. No problem with the red plates at police checkpoints. And plenty of room and comfort in the drivers seat for my 195 cm tall frame.

Have not booked yet as we want to visit one more Mazda dealership, the fourth, and then pick the best amongst them. The 2014 Mazda3 hatchbacks are available now with delivery promised "in April". The sedans are coming in "a couple months" with no firm date from the sales guys. Also note there is a 10K baht surcharge if you want white and 15K if you pick red.

I will soon buy a 2014 Mazda 3 Sedan (base model) for 833,000 baht. My Thai wife is doing all the negotiations but I can pass along what I know from her.
Firstly, I have test driven the 2013 and 2014 Mazda 3s here in Bangkok and was impressed with both vehicles. The 2014 is a "major change" over the 2013 and we much prefer it mainly because it is bigger. You can get a brand new 2013 with 0% interest or 175,000 baht discount on sticker price.
- With discounts of up to 175,000 baht (condition ** for the Mazda3 2.0L 2013 model)
- Or installments at 0% interest to 72 months. (condition ** 25% down)
- And FREE! Class insurance For all
For the 2014 model, paying cash does not get you any discounts and in fact you may even have to pay more than the base price. All the Mazda dealerships seem to be fairly standardized on what they can offer. They can throw in up to 10,000 baht in free options such as 3M tinted window film and rear sensors, Financing with 25% down and 4 years to repay was at 2.4% or 2.9% with the higher rate providing the first year's insurance for free (value approximately 24,000 baht).

I got a Chinese tourist visa in Bangkok last week. Things have changed recently so older advice may no longer be valid. Apparently, same day issuance of visas is no longer an option and you must pick-up your visa in the morning. In addition to the air tickets and hotel booking, I was asked for a copy of my bank book, a copy of my passport and a copy of my Thai permanent residence book. I'm not working but my wife needed to provide a letter from her employer. Arrive before 9am and the wait should be less than an hour or arrive later and it may take two hours.

A friend who has been waiting for years in the backlog said he got a letter last week informing him that his application has been approved by the MoI.
There is a rumour that a bunch of PR's were signed off last week. Heard it from 2 sources so might be true. The first one said about it was 200 approved, the second said more than 100.

A few months ago, I bought a Samsung LCD TV 46" C650 6 series and experienced similar frustration connecting it to the internet via an ethernet cable to the router. True technical support tried changing IP addresses and settings but that did not work. My solution was to change the ADSL router from the 1 port Zyxel to the multiport Zyxel P 660HW-T1 v2. In my case, True changed this ADSL router for free. Cheers, SD

ASN plays all the hockey games. It's in the TrueVisions Silver & Platinum package.
Thanks, I have switched (for one month) my TrueVision package to Silver in order to get ASN. Picture quality of replayed games is not great when viewed on a 46" HDTV. I may stick with the online streaming which can also feature the better CBC feed commentary rather than Versus.
For those that are interested, on game day check here http://www.myp2pforum.eu/threads/57029-NHL-Today!-June-1st-2011-Stanley-Cup-Finals for links.
http://www.sports-billet.eu has one of the better feeds (also for the NBA Finals games)

Apparently the all important meeting was held today (Monday 16 March) to decide on the PR applicants for 2006. (and possibly 2007 as well).
So fingers crossed, a letter will be on its way to us soon.
Hope this is true - I really want this sorted out soon, as circumstances in my employment have changed and it looks as if I will be going to work overseas for at least two years. I'll be leaving in July, and if I don't have PR by then I might as well kiss it goodbye.

Why can't you just fly back to get your PR and Alien books when the finally issue them? Cheers, SD

I asked on 19 Dec 2022 at the Suvarnabhumi immigration counter where applications for autogate privileges for PR holders were made in the past. It is not yet available and it was not known when it would be re-instated.
