Hi, my wife and I are coming to Krabi at the beginning of August for the first time and would like to stay a couple of days on Phi Phi Island. Can anyone advise us on the following:

1. Best place to stay in Krabi under 2,000bht p/night.

2. Best place to stay on Phi Phi under 2,000bht p/night.

3. Cost and means of getting to Phi Phi from Krabi.

4. Scuba diving on Phi Phi - best place, how is it, etc?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi Mask, hope you don't mind me piggy-backing on your post but I am also looking for similar accommodation in Pattaya for about the same price. I am here for about eight weeks to do some charity work with the Mercy Mission and would appreciate any advice. Perhaps we can share info. If anyone has any ideas please help...

I'm looking to rent a one or two bedroom condo or appartment in Hua Hin for 3 - 6 months from the beginning of October. I know this overlaps the busy season but thought someone up there might have some ideas as to availability and price. All suggestions would be very welcome.

Can anyone recommend a good budget priced hotel in central Bangkok (say around 800 bht p/n for an airconditioned double room). I will be travelling with my wife and would like somehere close to shops and skytrain. One suggestion I have received is the Sawasdee Inn in Khaosan Rd - is this any good? Any suggestions much appreciated....

Should I deal with the touts or go straight to the taxi rank?

I need to get from the Int Airport to Hua Hin (plane arrives at 18.50). I notice in previous threads that a taxi would cost around 1,800 - 2,000 Bht. Is this rate still about right? Any other suggestions?

All great advice, thanks again. Can anyone recommend a good hotel in Bangkok (maybe not too far from the train station for train to CM) and also in Chiang Mai. Our budget is about 700 - 900 Bht per night.

Thanks for all the advice. We have now booked a flight on Tiger Airways as suggested (S$91 including taxes) and will probably do the Bangkok to Chiang Mai train trip once we get there. This is a great Forum and your help is much appreciated. Any other tips on where top go and what to do, especialy in Chiang Mai and Hua Hin would be most appreciated. I am travelling with my wife and will be in Thailand for about 4 weeks.

Thanks for the tips. We are already committed to flying to Sigapore (or did you mean fly from Sigapore to Bangkok). Time is not a factor as we have a month to look around. Thought the train trip might be a bit of fun. One thought was to spend a day or two in Hat Yai on the way up. Is this a good idea? Where would you recommend to stay?

I need some advice and hope someone can help. I'm flying to Sigapore from Australia in late January and planning on traveling to Huan Hin by train from Singapore on Tues 24th Jan or Wed 25th Jan.
