Thanks for your reply Wallywest!
30k THB for how many classes?
Their website says 15 sessions for 6000 baht with 3 months validity. Since we need a minimum of 2 sessions per week that would mean 105 sessions for a full year at 630000 THB, unless they have some kind of package with EDU visa? Have contacted them but haven't gotten any reply yet.
2000 THB for visa fees + $80 to pay in a neighbouring country as stated on the thai embassy website (http://www.thaiembassy.org/hochiminh/en/services/54615-Non-Immigrant-Visa-ED-(Education).html)
+ extensions every 3 months for a maximum of 1 year.
Is this correct? -
Yes, I understand that.
Quite pricey to do a bit of paperwork. -
What is the name of the other school that can offer the 1 year ED visa. I found the following on google:

Toddy's 20k baht seems quite pricey indeed and it's at Bearing, pretty far out of town and 18k per month for sleeping and training, damn!
Are there really only 2 schools who can provide this visa?
Can I switch schools and keep my Education Visa?
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
