I really related to that thread in here about Thailand being less friendly

But as we have Cambodian expats, Philippines expats and all other ASIAN expats NOT just Thailand on here please tell me about your experiences in other places

Look I'm going to be honest with you.

I found Filipino guys more "aggressive" and dominate than other ASEAN countries but they weren't RUDE and most had sense if humour unlike im finding with Thai people nowadays

The Filipino women were ok although dominant too but they all had laughter and sense of humour

Malaysia was great , friendly polite people with great manners

The Malay tend to be overall more polite, less dodgy, more friendly than the Thais. I would move there tomorrow if it were possible.

  2. And another quality foreigner tries pushing the limits. Thai Immigration is #1 responsible for allowing all the trash in more focused on $$$ when they themselves any time can deny anyone from entering. From all the freaks young and old men and women over the years would not break my heart to see 50% less obnoxious trash in. FREAK SHOW!

Wait a minute.. I thought the police are always claiming there is no prostitution in Thailand?

When I browse the dating apps I always come across many Thai women who are advertising short time or long time even on their profile pages. Some are advertising to add their Line for sex video and pics as well. Why are the police not addressing everyone. Thais are exempt in this witch hunt it seems. They are not interested in the fact that they are sex workers. They care more that it is a foreigner doing it. Bangkok and Pattaya also have many foreigner sex workers. Why are they not going after them as well either?

Besides the numerous YouTube channels promoting it so odd those channels go unnoticed.

Not sure how many BTU, but I think it cost about 10-12k baht...a room that size doesn't need a huge unit.    Sorry I can't be of more help on that end.  Main thing I took away from the experience is to stick with mitsubishi or diahatsu.   I find the aircon salesmen usually push units that are on the large side.  Too big and it will be like a jet engine in the room and dry you out as well.  My advice is to go smallish for a room that size.

For air filtering, you are probably better off buying a dedicated air purifier for around 3k baht.  they work better at cleaning the air and filters are relative cheap to replace.  Cuts down on aircon servicing a bit I have noticed as the room doesn't get as dusty.

any advice on a good brand air purifier?

Only mitsubishi or diahatsu if you are concerned about noise.  The cheap chinese compressors they sell with the units that are a couple thousand baht less tend to rattle and sound like they are about to fall apart...they can be extremely loud and there is nothing that can be done according to my aircon guy.  He was out a few times installing rubber washers etc trying to quiet ours down to no avail.  Landlord coughed up for a new mitsubishi and it purrs like a kitten.

What was the BTU and how much ?

It seems Social Security benefit Suspensions  are happening quite frequently. Non-receipt of SSA-7162. is the culprit.

This has happened to me. To correct you must go the the Social Security Administration site at the US-Manila Embassy. Once you get on the SSA page  all the info and links that you need are on that page. Note if you want to call they are only open on Tuesdays and Thursdays between the hours of 0800 ans 1100 Manila time. Wait times are incredibly short. And they are quite helpful; and professional. I would strongly recommend using DHL as the courier of choice. It took  days for delivery to the Embassy. Hope that helpas

Can I just mail it to the main office in the states as I have done before? I mailed the late one about a month ago and waiting to see if anything happens in early March. Can a phone call in itself to Manilla fix the problem?

If living in Thailand you should be using Manila as you indicated in OP - so why are you now saying to mail to office in the states?  Are you still using USA address?

My mistake I am looking for Form SSA-7162 where can I get a PFD link? My second notice mailed to Thailand says to return the form to the address in America. Would rather deal directly with the main office. Last year from Manilla office by e-mail was told to deal with the office in America.

For those concerned that did not receive a 7162 back around July you might want to play it safe and just download & complete  a 7162 (download from SSA weblink at bottom) and then mail it via "regular airmail" (not registered airmail) from your local Thai post office....mailing will cost approx Bt49.  And it should arrive Wilkes Barre in approximately 2 to 3 weeks.  Heck mail it a second time a few days later for another Bt49 to play it safe.   Spend Bt49 to Bt98 to avoid possible suspension of benefits staring in Jan 2023 (i.e., no early Feb 2023 payment).

Six of my very good friends have had enough of Phuket and all six are leaving because of traffic. Another friend and his family of four just bought a house a relocated here from the UK. After just a few months, they are already looking for ways to leave.

How many of you have lost friends due to the 'progress' going on in Phuket?

The only province in Thailand I have never been to. Even decades ago I was smart enough to avoid the place along with every other tourist/expat $hithole in Thailand.

    IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

If you did not receive your monthly Social Security payment this month, your benefits have likely been suspended because we did not receive the annual questionnaire form that was mailed to you.

To reinstate your benefit payments, you will need to print and complete one of the forms listed below.

    • If you are a Social Security beneficiary, please complete Form SSA-7162
    • If you are the Representative Payee for a beneficiary, please complete Form SSA-7161

When completing the form, please ensure that you include your complete name, address, contact number, SSN and sign the form. Once signed, mail the completed form to:

             Social Security Administration
             ATTN: FEQ
             U.S. Embassy
             1201 Roxas Boulevard, Ermita
             Manila, Philippines 0930

Once we receive the completed form, we will take immediate action to reinstate benefits. Any past due benefits will be directly deposited into your bank account, usually within 7-10 business days. Thank you.

Thanks so much this is what I was looking for. Hopefully the letter from Thailand will make it there.
