  1. Hi all,

    I have the following issue:

In the beginning of this year I did an internship in Bangkok: came with a Non-Immigrant-B visa, stayed 3 months, left Thailand. Never got a work permit though.

Now I got offered a new job, which makes me apply again for a Non-Immigrant-B visa and once I'm in Thailand the work permit.

On the Embassy's site the following documents are required for the application: Copy of Work Permit issued by the Ministry of Labour (only in case the application has previously worked in the Kingdom)

As I never got a work permit - what would you suggest? Pretending that I finally didn't work, but was a tourist? Or explaining that I never got a work permit - but this is actually illegal...

Thank you very much for your help!

  2. Hi again,

I'd like to apply for a METV from somewhere else than my homecountry (either KL or Yangoon). Do you see any problem in that?

On both websites of the embassies I can't find any information about the METV, but only the "normal" tourist visa - does this mean that they won't be issued there?

The multiple entry is not limited, right?

So I could also in 6 months come in and go out for let's stay 7 times?

As I will be staying at a friends' place, how can I go round the hotel confirmation?

Will I need hotel / airplaine booking confirmations before every re-entry?

Anything else I should need to know about?

    Thank you

    Claire

  3. hi community,

i'm planning of going to yangoon for a visa run as i will need a new non immigrant b visa.

does anyboday have any recent experience with the embassy? couldn't find any recent reports on that matter.

also, i was wondering about the required documents, as written on their homepage:

    FOR SINGLE ENTRY (WORK PERMIT)

    1. Copy of passport and 2 recent photographs
    2. Approval letter from Ministry of Labour (if any) --for this document, please ask your employer to send
a request note to M. of Labour of Thailand to acquire it.
    3. Employment letter from Company
    4. Employment contract
    5. Company registration/tax payment/share holders lists
    6. Company's map
    7. Your resume (education background/work experience)
    8. Visa fee is 80 USD
    FOR MULTIPLE ENTRIES
    1. Copy of passport and 2 recent photographs
    2. Request letter (to specify why the applicant need multiple entries)
    3. Business profile
    4. Company registration
    5. CV of the applicant
    6. Financial evidences i.e. bank account, properties ownership
    7. Visa fee is 200 USD

    >> why wouldn't I need a work permit for multiple entries? or can I only apply to multiple entries as soon as I already have a work permit? but then i would alreaday have a non immigrant b visa... sounds confusing to me...

    thanks for your help!

  4. hi all!

i am wondering if it is possible to change a non immigrant B visa into an ED visa, without leaving thailand? i would then go to the immigration office in chaengwatthana. what do you think?

(background: i did an internship and just started a new one. on the non immigrant b visa it says the name of the old company. as i won't need a work permit, an ed visa would be much less complicated, i think...)

thank you in advance for all advice!

    claire
