I lived in San Francisco back in 1966 to 1968 than moved to San Jose. Now days San Francisco is a not the place to, not only live, but even visit one day. This city is totally gone!

The US embassy won’t even recognize letters from the US social Security showing the retirement monthly amount. The US embassy is anything but an embassy representing American citizens.

What a foreigner must do is to bank with a Thai bank and show the monthly earning required or the 400K Baht amount. The bank will give you a letter to attest that you meet the Thai emigration requirement. Naturally you must be married legally or be 55 or older to meet the retirement qualifications.

The main reason why the main land Chinese are coming less to Thailand is the problems between China and the US. Even though the Chinese government statistics are questionable, the Chinese GDP is around 2%, the lowest in years. The Chinese currency is devalued to counteract the US tariffs. Last the unemployment is up. China is been hurt by the US.

The patient needs to be on Medicaid. She paid all her life for Medicare, now that she is ill US don't want to care for its citizen who is now terminally ill. Reminds me of unscrupulous insurance companies who drop coverage when the patient really needs them. 

My mother had Alzheimer and passed on at 86. She lived in California and was not US Citizen. My father took care of her all the way to the end. My sister and I help my father, but my mother stayed home, she saw the doctor for her medications only. We paid for the medications.

The cost of living in an old age facility is very expensive. This lady family was not able to take care of her at home and preferred to place her in a retirement home. This is where the Thai emigration required the earning or the caution of 800K. She could go back to the US, she would come under “Medicaid” not “Medicare”, her living conditions may not be what they wanted.

The US Embassy in Bangkok is refusing to notarized the annual income of US citizen. The majority of US permanents US residents are Social Security recipients. The social Security Administration sent a letter on Social Security letter head, every recipient, in December of every year “Your new benefit amount” for the following year. It shows your gross retirement and your deductions, if you have any. It shows your retirement net, before taxes.

The US Embassy represent the Federal Government and as such as access to all US Social Security Account on line, on the Federal Government network, which is secured.

I cannot stomach an official government, so call, embassy that say, on their web site, that they cannot “verify”. This can of lie is not acceptable. An embassy purpose is to take care of the US Citizen, a side from the diplomatic relations, with the Thaï government, they refuse, there is a name for these kinds of people?
