  1. First time i had issues with the post service, but here's what happened.
    International order from an online shop in Australia, they ship with regular post;
I already ordered from the shop in the past with no issue, and in fact, my order was split in two separate orders because one items required a few more days to become available, and the second smaller parcel arrived without issue.

Normally when there's a delivery i get a phone call, and if i'm not home the delivery man leaves the parcel at my condo's office.

I got no phone call for this one, and one day the parcel was marked as delivered, but it wasn't in the office, so i went to the post and asked about it.
They sent me all the way to the building where the postmans work to talk directly with the postman who made the delivery..they checked on their terminal where we could see where the item was delivered and who picked it up (they had a photo), and it was a staff person in an office, which is not my condo's office.
Basically, they delivered the parcel to the wrong place, but they couldn't tell me where.

The adress i wrote down was indeed correct, i write that same adress everytime, i received dozens of parcels both nationally and internationally without issues.

I even went to a couple condos near my place, but they did not have my parcel, nor their office was like the one in the photo.

I showed the street view on Gmaps satellite to the postman, which confirmed me that "yes i go inside here and go straight"...which is weird because if he went straight on the road i showed him there would have been a wall, and the road would end, with no office to deliver to.
Long story short, and 3 trips to the post office later, nothing is solved, i spoke with another staff who spoke better english, which told me, twice, that she would talk with the postman and contact me back, only to never contact me back at all.

I gave her another call some 30 mins ago, telling here that they don't need to call me, but they need to go recover that package and bring it back to the post office so that i can pick it up, and again she said she talk to the postman and contact me back "wait a moment na", and she disappears.
I tried to call again and she don't pick up the phone, as she did 3 days ago when she told me the same thing.

What am i supposed to do? The parcel is worth several hundreds $, i can't just let it go, and asking a refund from the shop is likely going to be problematic and time consuming, especially because the parcel is marked as delivered; also i need that stuff, i would rather avoid waiting weeks for a refund and order again.

Is there a place where i can go to make an official complaint? Shall i go to the police?
The post office in question is the Chaiyaphruek Post Office, in Pattaya.

  2. Hello everyone; i've been living in Thailand for a few years, and i would like a change of scenary at least for a while, and i always liked to visit the Philipines, so i am planning to come on a holiday first, and if i like it, relocating there for an undetermined amount of time; could be 6 months, could be 5 years, who knows.

However i recently came aware of this new presidency, and i see people are worried, so i would like to ask if this is something an expat should be worrying about.

I am 28, i work online from home, i don't intend to buy any property there, nor open any business. For all intents and purposes i would be like a tourist.

Can this political situation impact my staying negatively, especially in concern to safety?

    Thank you for your feedback

  3. Speaking of certificates, does anybody have experience with online services for Fit To Fly?

Apparently my doctor here has no idea what a FTF is, and is making a lot of trouble to get it, insist on having a covid test before the FTF and some other nonsense.

I found a clinic that can issue a FTF after video consulting, and sending certificate via email. Just wanted to know if someone has done it before, they said videoconsulting is quite standard for fit to fly

Is it worth the risk of being rejected and turned around halfway thought your journey ???

Definitely not, which is why i spent an entire day calling test labs to have mine done as fast as possible. Doing it 2 days before travel should keep me safe, at the time of the 2nd board i will still be within the 72hr window.

I might be a bit out of the 72hrs at my arrival in ASQ, but if the maximum penalty is another test, then i'll do it, there wasn't really any other way.

Hotels are all stating 2 Covid-19 RT PCR tests (day 5/6 and day 11/12) and with a negative result facilities can be used from day 7 (for 45mins to 1hr depending on the hotel).

Yeah i actually checked the emails they sent me and it states 2 tests.

Not sure where i read about the test on day 0, maybe it was from one review somewhere on the forum.

To add to this... You can receive the result within 48 hours allowing a further 24 hrs leeway.

The flight is at 4pm, and all the places i found only issues test in the morning, that was also causing some issues.

Anyway, i finally found one that can ensure me no later then 36hr result, so i should be settled, test 2 days before departure, and have the result by the evening before the flight.

Some ASQ hotels (not all) insist that your Covid-19 RT PCR test result is within the 72 hr window at arrival at the ASQ hotel. IF not the ASQ hotel may insist that you take a further Covid-19 RT PCR test on day 0 (zero) arrival at ASQ (this happened to me and I had to pay 5950 baht for an extra Covid-19 RT PCR test).

From what i could read in the hotel policy and recent asq reviews, this is now a standard practice, you get tested on day 0 before entering the room, included in hotel price.

Also, i'm pretty sure i read somewhere that stated the test has to be 72hrs before your first flight in case of multiple boardings; of course, specific transit country might have a regulation of their own on the subject.

  6. Among all of the documentation i'm finding the PCR test the most difficult due to the time restriction, and no one in my country (italy) issues them within 24hr.

One thing is not clear, is the date that count, or they want the exact hour of the test? because all the lab here told me that they do not write the hour, they just wirte on what date they take the sample to analyze, and then the date that they check the results.

So for example, my flight is on 30 January at 4pm. If i take the test on 27 January at 10pm, the paper will only say 27 Jan, not the time. Which is 3 days before.

I already asked embassy etc but they can't give me an exact answer, maybe someone had experience with this before.

  7. Given the new lockdown in many provinces, i'm not sure how "necessary travel" is considered.

I will be doing ASQ in Bangkok starting 1st February, and after that, i have to go to pattaya to my condo.

The condo is not at my name, is on rental, with a contract that goes on for more then 1 year, i'm not sure if that can be proof of residing in pattaya.

I would have no problem self quarantine myself in pattaya once i arrive, i just need to get there, as i also have appointment at pattaya hospital for important medical reason.

Do you think rental contract, proof that i just finished ASQ with negative covid test, and hospital appointment in pattaya will be enough to let me pass?

Never been in this situation before as last lockdown i was already in pattaya, but had to go back to my country at a short notice, and i guess i couldn't pick a better time...so i'm not sure how this al work.

Could it change things if i book my ASQ in Pattaya rather then Bangkok?

Any suggestion on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

  8. I've been in thailand in 2020 with a ED visa; when it expired, i made a Volunteer visa for 12 months through the same school, without leaving the country;

Shortly after, i had to leave Thailand for medical reason, and i made a re-entry permit which is valid till september 2021 (same as the visa lenght) prior leaving Thailand.

I do still have few months left in my rental contract in a condo in thai, and im planning to come back; I would be flying from Italy (which won't help im sure, given the situation here).

Informations are a bit messy, but from i could find volunteer visas are currently not accepted. It doesn't mention, however, if someone has a re entry permit.

Anybody has experience entering Thailand with a re entry permit with covid restriction in place?

  9. Hello thaivisa, i'm new here and i would greatly appreciate any help on this matter,, hopefully i chosed the right section for this.

Please, restrain from trolling as this is a serious issue, it seem the subject attract trollers around the web as far as i saw on other forums.

I'm having trouble finding a size of condoms that fit well.

I live in Phuket, and i used to order condoms from amazon since thai bigger size available is too tight.

This time however, the courier contacted me about my package being hold at the custom clearance; apparently, i need an import license from FDA, which is not something that they handle just like that as far as i understand.

Does anyone knows if somewhere they sell above average condom sizes, or a way to buy them online without having to deal with the FDA?

56mm are the biggest one that i found in pharmacies and 7/11, and they don't fit.

    Appreciate any help, thanks.
