Would appear that Immigration will shortly open a new office on 2nd floor of Promenada, next door to Bangkok Bank. Anyone know what functions will be processed there in due course?

I use these guys for quite a lot of stuff. Really good pies. Not the cheapest but they are well made with real ingredients. I had a quick look at their FAQ and they deliver to Chiang Mai. 500B. So if the order is big enough probably not to bad.
Beef, Red Wine and Muchroom is my favourite. Their bacon is pretty decent as well if you like English back bacon. They also sell their products in Villa Market (Not sure if they have an outlet in Chiang Mai)
Sloane's products are available at Rimping. Only tried the sausages, but they were good ????

Thanks Chris
Your info was very helpful. As I intend to try my luck tomorrow. Probably early!
Good luck. Please let us know how you get on. My Extension renewal is on the horizon....

Thanks all for the replies. Think I will go via Lampang and Phayo and see how I get on. If I like that route I will come back the same way otherwise will return via CM.
Good choice, nice roads & Phayao is great for a coffee break/stopover.

Now I am confused. You mean there are two TM30 places to go? Why the need for Promenada in the first place?
I'm confused too, hence my post. On Weds this week, I went to Promenada to update TM30 as I had arrived from Vietnam that same day. My wife had to file/update the TM30 as the house owner, whereas on previous occasions I could do it myself at Immigration.
Today, just 2 days later my friend was sent to the Airport Immigration Office by Promenada Office, & he was able to update his TM30 by himself.
Hopefully, some clarity will emerge shortly for those needing to update their TM30.

Another twist?????
A friend of mine went to Promenada this afternoon for TM30 purposes (return to Thailand & no change of address, but lives in a rented house owned by non-family 3rd party).
He was told to go to Imm at the airport, & there he was able to update his TM30 on his own, as he had on previous occasions.
Any ideas/news about this apparent change of procedure?

No not first time of reporting already registered for TM30 reporting and have done it a few times myself. The officer said these are specific new rules from the boss whoever that is.
I had exactly the same experience on Wednesday when I returned to CM from Vietnam. I had previously updated my TM30 by myself on numerous occasions.

Yesterday I returned by plane to Chiang Mai after 2 weeks out of Thailand. I went to Promenada Immigration to update my TM30 (no change of address) as I had done on numerous previous occasions.
I was not able to get the update done by myself, my wife, being the house owner, had to do it for me. Fortunately she was close by/shopping in Rimping so after 5 minutes with the IO the task was completed. The IO also kindly made copies of the photo page of my passport, & my wife's ID Card.
Next job is to follow Peter's guide to register for online TM30 filing.

Thanks Bob.
That is what I have done on previous occasions. Looks like I'll be going to Promenada in future.

Will I still able to update my current TM30 by myself at CM Imm when I return from Vietnam in early March? I do have a Yellow Book & the last couple of times I have returned to Thailand from other countries, it has never been a problem.
Thanks for any forthcoming advice.

Yes indeed, thanks Scuba. I hope I never need to use it, but it is very useful to know the procedure.

From the websites I'd say LA no and WA DC yes. Do you think they answer emails and would the information be worth anything? I'd think expat experience would be a better indicator. A fellow from the UK said that's the way he did in in England which is what gave me the idea.
Sorry, I have no idea if they answer emails - I'm from the UK myself.

My question would be can you use a Thai medical and criminal report and have the money in a Thai bank and still get an O-A visa in America?
Not being funny, but that is a "curved ball" question. Perhaps a direct enquiry addressed to your local US based Thai Embassy would be best to get a definitive answer?

I have friends who stay there long term - they seem very happy to be there.
There is a great rental/real estate office on the ground floor where the owner speaks good English & is very helpful.
Hope that helps.

My 90 Day online report was "Approved" the same day as I submitted it, earlier this week. That was my 4th time using the online service, & each time the Approval has been received within 24hrs. Couldn't be better!

Yep Cusanus, I agree. Respect is a two way thing & should not be underestimated in helping things get done as painlessly as possible! ????

Suggest you change your "spellchecker", mate ????????????

I think he is referring to the one way system for cars entering and leaving the offices not the road, and where the waiting signage is and from a previous visit it is not particularly safe for pedestrians etc.
Agreed. It is potentially dangerous, especially if people in the lines are glued to their smartphones! ????

HappyQueue - I used it yesterday at Immigration. It gives you an update on the expected/estimated "processing time" via scanning the QR Code on the ticket you have already queued for & obtained. At least you then have an idea of how long it will be before you get to the desk of relevant officer.

TM 30 Update
I arrived at 8 50 this morning Monday
To up date my TM30
No where to park i had to park on the other side of the road It cost 10 Baht
I had to ask the Residence certificate lady where i had to go to do the update
She said to go to counter 1
I did this and then was finally given No 24
I asked how long after returning to Chiang Mai from Overseas
Her reply was 1 day
At counter 2 it looked like they were doing the 90 day reporting
There was no change at this new building
Still disorganised after 2 weeks
It looked bedlam at the front
I did notice a sign at the front i enclose the photo
Inside i saw a booking screen which was not working
We can only hope for improvements
I arrived to do TM30 at 10.45 this morning - approx 15 people in the queue at Desk 1. After 25mins I reached the desk only to be told to come back at 1pm. Hopefully this small task (even though I have Yellow Book), will be completed later this afternoon.
The place was ram jammed full, & I parked my car across the road for 20bht, which I consider reasonable for the convenience, although I should have parked at Airport Plaza for free, bearing in mind I'm now sat here typing this!!!
Whats the best 5 star hotel in Chang mai that you recommend?
