  1. Dear, if you are having passport problems; best would be to contact your Honorary Consul in Lampang for issuing either a temporary passport for 1 months or 1 year; or an Emergency Travel Document ETD (if stolen or lost documents).

Is not expensive and legal. Advise to contact your Consul first to make an appointment.

Flight out from Chiang Mai by International flight on transit in the respective country before continue home to Belgium. Good luck

  2. International Living Magazine is a subscriber magazine with a monthly fee mainly targets the US market, so the stories have to be nice and colorful.

Like most of thing in live it is always in the eye of the beholder...

There assumptions are based on lifestyle rather than economic: average monthly spending of 1700 to 2500 USD, rents less than 950 USD... I guess you get the point.

If it would come to the most easy places to retire many countries on their list will lose out; there are far better countries available to fit into this category. Take this from someone has lived and worked in 13 different countries out of Europe and visit more than 80 countries in the same time.

However let Thailand enjoy the nomination, as I do love the country in which I am living now for 23 years.

  3. Shame on Thailand...if this young lady would not use the social media for her cry of help, she would be already deported and we do not no which faith would have awaited here in Saudi Arabia. So much about he "Land of Smiles", which only bent to the pressure of the worlds news media.

Kapunmakrap and have a wonderful day in LOS (Visa Free)

  4. Samui was a Mafia Island 25 years ago and still is; will never change.

Although I was living mostly in Pattaya in all this years; with all the bad things going on in this town, I hardly encounter any danger; but I am a BIG peace loving fellow, and only occasionally getting Pi...d.

Anyway this kind of kindness for tourist you can find all around the world (and I traveled 80 countries so far) my advise is to enjoy your live and special your holidays.

  5. Hope for your guys that CM will improve. If I am in the country to visit my family I never had a problem with my Immigration in Phetchabun; very friendly and helpful people. Got my extension if needed without problems, as time of my stays vary due my job assignments.

After 25 years in LOS I have to admit is not always easy, but in the end manageable...and nobody is forcing us to stay.

  6. Benefits? What BENEFITS?

In 25 years I have not got any benefits from the Thai Government. For visas you have to apply and work permits been easier in the past (the legal ones) then now. I been working for more then 15 years in Thailand legally in the hospitality industries and things have not become easier now. The reason I stopped working here since 2013 and staying now most of the time abroad, hence the Accidental Tourist.
