So, let me understand this. Australia gives a medal to a foreigner that left to live in another country, for his action to the international community in that country?????
Ok, nevermind. Very happy for him. Congratulations Wal!

Someone said get your thai partner to explain to hire company EXACTLY what you want to say
from my experience don’t because she will not explain as you would

Derek I’ve written the true license requirements as off now bit extreme ,especially when you actually the parent that has to keep all correct paper work
also my comparison to the different police strategies Aus verses thai
we have police cars everywhere
any body caught doing a wheel spin driving stupid car impounded fo 30 days second offence car crushed

To kieth 101
i have just supervised 3 sons and a daughter-in-law
for their licence in Australia
the requirements for the licence
120 hours supervision 100% itemised in special book even down to hours and minutes each trip ,”daytime or night time “
the hazard test
after getting their licence for one year RED P plate ,can not have more than one passenger in the car unless family cannot have a phone in the car at all
after one year on the red ps
then three years on GREEN Ps
no alcohol at all
I just arrived in Thailand with my middle son ( I failed to mention all my family are Thais )
and driving from Bangkok to Burrirum he just kept comment on the bad driving all the way

There are priority lanes processing people aged?
I never saw them. How old you have to be to use them and are they also for farang? -
The Thai police set up road blocks ok but how many times do you see blatant traffic infringements and police do NOTHING
where we live Buriram we pass the time at the traffic lights counting the amount off laws broken I.e. no helmets utes with people in them running red lights
one off these lights I’m talking about has a manned
police box and they do squat

Whilst my wife and I wait at traffic lights
we average each stop 100 plus traffic infringements
all committed whilst 4 police sit in their box watching
so how serious do we take their efforts to stop all the people from braking the law

2years ago a relationoff mine asked me go and pick up her sons bike at the police station in nang rong
charge no helmet no registration no exhaust
i get there he comes out to get some money off his mother to pay for the registration
next I see him ride out off the police station
I ask his mother what is happening
her reply “ the police lent a motor bike to go to other side of nangrong to pay the registration before they would release the bike back
as earlier noted he “ didn’t have a license “
also didn’t have a helmet but police let him ride one off their bikes with no license no helmet to pay for registration
after all this we had to load the bike onto the Ute because it was too noisy

From experience driving in Thailand
dont look for break lights the driver has more than likely tied his tarps over them
or as told to me by a local they disconnect their lights because they believe their batteries will last longer
