I've gone through a number of bouts of depression over the past 20 years, but have never gone to get it diagnosed or treated. I just kept going and most of the time it got better.
I'm currently going through a bad patch that kind of came out of the blue, there have been times lately where the only thing stopping me from deciding to.... end things, are my 2 sons that need me.
It's time to organize getting it treated.
I'm mainly in Silom area of Bangkok 90% of the time, and around 10% of the time in Phuket.
TIA for any information on I presume the first part - diagnosis.

I believe boredom is a lot to do with it. Boredom and routine.I finish working online at around 8:00-8:30pm. We live in a very big Thai neighborhood that has absolutely nothing in but houses. In an area that has nothing in it but neighborhoods of houses. Exercing after that would keep me up at night.
So it is onto the sofa to watch TV, and pour a drink so my hands have something to do.
I'm pretty active in the day time and typically go for long walks every day to think about things.

For me:
I'm not enjoying it like I used to.
It's starting to effect my private/family life to a small degree.
I'm 40 and don't want to be doing it until I'm 60.
Don't want to become dependent on it.

Over the last year or two I've gotten into the routine of drinking every night. It started because I could do it, and enjoyed it. Now I don't enjoy it as much, but it's what I do.
Typically 4-6 big beers, or 1/5-1/4 liter of whiskey, or a bottle of wine over the course of the night. It's difficult to stop and not do it. Not sure if an alcoholic or not (could be routine rather than alcohol dependence)
What tips are there to help me stop and go back to once or twice a week? It would be better for my life and my family's life.

but not any where as good as my linked unit.
Got a link to your linked unit?
Or brand name and model.
Thanks.

Thanks.
Ultrasonic Air Humidifier.
How does this one look?
-
Bowl of water with salt.
25 degrees.
Still the same.
Felt the dryness as soon as entering the room. A/C was on maybe an hour before.
Will look at the dehumidifier things.
Thanks.

So then, to get back to the topic if okay.
Humidifiers.
Is anybody using one?
What model did you get?
Have you noticed a difference?
Thanks

I will look into the humidifier option.
Can anybody advise or recommend what one should be looking for in one?
Thanks.

A normal comfort temperature is probably closer to 25C or so indoors.... And it's probably because the OP has the temperature set so cold, and the air con is working so hard, that it's having such a big drying out effect on the air in his room.
I don't believe that's the case.
It's usually set to 23/24, which is what I've been setting A/C's to in Thailand for around a decade.

Thanks.
This is the unit and remote control setting.

Just put a bowl of extra salty water in the bedroom, will let you know. ?

Put a salad bowl of water on your bedside cabinet, some salt in the water is good to...
Thanks.
Is this real or an old wives tale? ?
I'll try it. Thanks.

^^ Thanks for the repply. I've always set A/C's to 23/24 while here, and don't feel it as cold. And haven't had this issue before, so don't think it's the temp.
I will set it to Auto mode tonight, and see if there's a difference. Thanks.
I will research about a 'humidifier'.

The aircon in my bedroom is super dry, uncomfortably dry. Wake up with chapped lips, dry skin and a parched throat gasping for water. Not from any cold, just from the dryness of the air. The A/C is about 2 years old and works fine.
The one in the living area is about 2 weeks old and seems a little bit similar, but not as extreme.
As with every other aircon I've ever used, I set them to the 'snowflake' setting and temp around 23 or 24. But have never experienced this before.
As a side note the water in the building is extra limescaley, and also drys out my face after washing etc, so need to put on babylotion after. Not sure if the 2 are related or not.
Could it just be an aircon setting?
Is there a trick or method to not have an aircon dry out all the air? I don't see any extracter fan or whatever, if there should be one.
Thanks for any info/replies.
