I've heard rumors for years that there is an American who isn't a convicted felon that lives somewhere here in Thailand. Anyone ever actually met him? Starting to think it is just a rumor.

How do you know you're not also on the "not fit to bus" or "not fit to cruise" lists?

My wife is coming from Thailand to the States and wondering how some of the airlines, flights are in general. Although Japan Airlines has plenty of deals, Im interested in China Airlines. I see that the layover in Tapei is quite short (1hr and 15m) which is good in one hand, but concerned if the plane is late or if the layover is long enough to change flights to the next airplane heading back to the States.
Thanks
1:15 connection is a terrible idea unless your wife is an experienced traveller and can make her own hotel arrangements if the flight is missed and the airline plays games with rebooking or providing hotel vouchers.

I guess we just have to trust they have looked at his passport, right? Or what do you think?
I think you should have given my comment the confused emoji and let it go at that.

Drink like a fish? Are you an alcoholic? What a dumb comment.
Sounds like you've had a few shots of liquid courage yourself. Doubt you'd talk that reckless sober, at least in person.

Yes, thanks. My flight departure is early (09.45), so I was trying to avoid the overly long period between check-in and push back, as I'll leave home in Sathorn around 07.00, which will acclimatise me for Tokyo time in the ensuing days.
Boarding will start at ~9am.

If you aren't checking bags do online check-in and get your digital boarding pass. You can go six hours early and drink like a fish in the Cathay Pacific lounge. Then when they're tired of you move to the JAL lounge which opens three hours before departure.

I'd say that generally, Al Jazeera is a better news channel (in English) than any of the American news channels.
He's got a point. Al Jazeera has more pro-USA coverage than CNN and MS13-NBC.

And, it is they who haven't a clue what is actually going on, on campus.
Profs HATE the Admins, and rightly so!
The University Admins, and the Politicos, should be run off campus on a rail, and then tarred-and-feathered.
They want to run the university as a BUSINESS.
But, Penn was never intended, since its inception, to be the typical business.
When everything is run as a business, with profit the sole goal, then all is lost.
The people running Penn are NITWITS.
Was it always this way?
No.
So...
The Penn Students must NEVER give in to the tyranny of the university administration, nor to the unprincipled and misguided attempts to sweep under the rug, the holocausts that are happening as we speak.
The students know that the occupation of the territory now occupied by Israel, including the very territory upon which Israel sits, is unjust.
Israelis need to find a new promised land, not one already occupied by other peoples, and the students need to continue their protests until this happens.
Who is not already tired of this...after so many decades?
When will it end?
Maybe never?
Nobody wants to hear your boring old stories about Penn grandpa. Now finish your milk and let's get you off to bed.

1/2 Thai, 1/2 Brit, 1/4 wit.
Made me think of a friend with a Jewish father and Mexican mother. He used to joke that if someone wouldn't let him haggle the price down low enough on something he wanted to buy he'd just come back later and steal it.
