Nice concise and clear explanation. Thank you. I agree with posters that it is one of the most absurd regulations ever put in place by a nation. You pass thought immigration at the airport....then next day they want you to go to local immigration. The immigration at the airport are part of the same organisation for goodness' sake. Why don't the airport immigration put your address on a central computer instead of messing about with farangs' lives.
My guess, and it is only a guess, is that it’s all about jobs for the boys and girls. The more bureaucratic faff there is, the more people can be employed in the civil service to cater to the faff.
A side question: the chap on the Jomtien video stated that those on one yr/extensions reporting to that office did not need to file a TM30 after travelling inside Thailand. Do they have to file a TM30 after a trip outside the country, say a weekend in Cambodia or elsewhere?

My wife calls me tirak with a flat tone unless she wants something, then it changes to a soft sweet rising tone.
I second that. The tone of the ‘tirak’ is a dead giveaway that I’m about to be tasked with a chore.

I don’t have the antidote OP, but I think the Buddha might. Luckily for you the Buddha’s teachings are within easy reach in Thailand. It’s not the concepts of life and death that are faulty, only the way we perceive them.
Get a copy, or download one from the Kindle store, of ‘A Still Forest Pool’ written by Ajahn Chaa. Extremely powerful stuff.
I’m not pushing religion here, merely philosophy.
Good luck in your quest to make sense of it all, I hope you find happiness.

It’s a fine line to walk between improving outcomes for students versus demoralising them.
I’d try to pick out some positives and focus on those first of all. The language you use to communicate ways of improving the work can also be crucial (if they understand what you are saying).
When giving feedback to students I tend to go along the lines of, ‘This was great... I like the way you did that... your work would be even better if...’

Absolutely. As a Brit I am at the point where my head is in danger of exploding every time I hear or read the word ‘Brexit’.

Never nice to see someone in the grips of phet addiction (assumption made). Hope she gets the help she needs.

I did wonder if immigration at the airport would record the address in some way, hence negating the need for a visit to the local immigration office upon arriving at my accommodation. Guess I’ll do both to be sure...

Thanks Joe, I’ll be sure to liaise with the landlord to ensure the report is done.

Greetings all,
I will be arriving in Thailand on a Non-B (single entry 90 day) visa, coming from the UK on 17th July.
My employer is sorting out the work permit so I can be fully legal by the time I begin work.
I'm just a little confused about when I need to report to the immigration office. I have a place rented for me to move into on the day of arrival; do I need to report to the local immigration office right away and provide my address, or is it only after my first 90 day period of being in Thailand that this must be done?
Apologies if this is a somewhat naive question, I'm a newbie and couldn't find the information through searches.
Thanks for your consideration ????

I went to Bangkok Pattaya hospital to see a doctor there, he prescribed Remeron Soltab which cost around 12k baht for 90 x 45mg so (they only had it in 15mg and 30mg so had to have 90 of each). That should give people a frame of reference for comparison. I’ll try the other brands at Fascino next. Thanks for the information Sheryl.
