Pattaya has become so polluted over the years that my body has developed a strong allergy response to the air and water. Until they clean it up I see no reason to return.

I cannot believe she was spending over $2,700 USD (86,000) a month for care here in TH.
Also where did she get that kind of money for 15 years! SS disability would pay maybe $1500 a month
Also seems very odd as almost all people afflicted with alzheimer do not live over 10 years.
15 years means she likely does not speak or walk anymore and is unaware of who anyone is at this point
Good luck to her in PI.

Contact an auto registration agent. I did using an auto-agent in Pattaya (for buying a used motorcycle). Of course he needed my original lease and Passport and I filled up a form. When he saw my TM30 in my passport, he said lease not required and returned the original. Total price 750BHT and no BS about residency certificate.
Sounds good. But l not planning to sell immediately. I have another 3 months extension in Jomtien..But now l are in BKK. So when extension ends l will get a new NON O no extension.
So my new NINJA 400 has Pattaya plates and the AEROX. I will not change to BKK. I will sell later 6 months time with Chonburi reg. Can the agent operate for sale transfer on behalf of my customer

Thai Immigration can just relax as soon there will be no more foreigners to extort - exodus has begun and will continue until only the true losers and (unfortunate for them) families are left. Mind you, very few new expats will show up once they learn what kind of place Thailand has become
Sadly all true

A lot of truth but the first extension is one month and the second one is two months and after that you can renew for six months until you reach the 3 years at which time you must leave the country or convert your visa.
There is a visa for long term ill on compassionate grounds, I am unaware of the details.
Phils resident for five years with travel.
Good info

As far as I know a certificate of residency is not required to sell a bike or car according to the rules. It is only required to register one.
I am though aware that there are some DLT offices that require one.
Correct and in Pattaya they are working in with the DLT. Chonburi told me it's not required. So l will not need it in BKK. Seller has GREEN BOOK original purchase new bike papers. Passport and a Thai wife. What more do they need my jocks

Chaeng Wattana immigration in Bangkok will not do a certificate of residency unless you are doing 90 day reports to them.
Since you are using a multiple entry non-o visa you will not be able to do one.
So how do you sell you bikes ?

i agree the rules are onerous, and I can relate being married to a Thai for 17 years. Trouble is there is a segment of people who seem to take pride in breaking the law and scamming the rules. Unfortunately we all pay and the rules will continue to be enforced and tweaked as long as there are people here that think they are owed the right to be here.
Yawn yawn lol

I thought that the thread was rather putrid, lacking either compassion or grace on the part of some posters and she is certainly quite correct in her description of "keyboard warriors".They are what they are.
Far,far, too many smug little foreign kapo's in Thailand.
Thanks

I can understand them refusing you as another hospital prescribed it.
Have you tried a pharmacy in town or only a hospital has your meds?
Hospitals are not a franchise and a registered doctor wrote it in Thailand. It is extortion and should be doubt with severely. Doctors are being told there not worthy to issue lol.

I still don't understand what "Alzheimer" and "Thai Immigration" have to do with each other. Someone suffering from Alzheimer will not get a free pass from immigration, right? So why the screaming headlines about an Alzheimer patient being forced out of Thailand? The two have nothing to do with each other.
Don't get me wrong. I sympathize with the daughter as I, myself, left Thailand to take care of my step-father who is also suffering from Alzheimer. But I would never use his ailment of as a mean to vent my frustration at a situation that is not to my liking.
Because it is a win and wearable gesture from the Philippines. I also liked the elections lol

The bottom line; Thailand lost 86,000 a month because no one in authority has a brain. The country will continue to lose money to neighbours until jobs are awarded on merit not family connections.

I cannot imagine I would ever put my mother on a center social media stage for anything
there were actually solutions to your situation if you had asked the right people
you are saying you are seriously pissed off with Thailand and yet you still choose to live here and ship your mother off to another country - sorry but ……………………..am I stating the obvious here...…………..your mum would have been better in Thailand as a dependent spouse - for baht85k you could have hired a team to look after her in Thailand instead of dumping her to another country - am I missing something
with respect - Just as well your mother has no clue what is going on
