  1. I dont get people doing that. If you're flight is very early morning and you are on a finite budget just stay at Nasa Vegas (less than $20 on agoda) the night before then you can jump the airport train which is skywalked from the hotel. It's a bit of dump but clean bedding is better than filthy seats at swampy and some proper rest before a long hual flight is a nobrainer. No overstay fines for 1day over too if pushing up against the 30 day

  2. A lot of websites offer a vietnam PDF sponsorship letter for $15-$30 that along with a photo and visa fee on arrival can be exchanged for a 3 month tourist visa instead of the usual 15 day exemption for brits.

I recall last two times I went leaving bangkok I was grilled both times by Vietjet about length of time since last visit, length of time in Vietnam and return flight within 15 days. Is a print out of this PDF enough to waive all this nonsense? Do I still need a return flight within 90 days? I like to be able to book last minute incase I decide to stay 30 days, or 45 rather than pin to the full 90 days

I left Swampy on Friday about 9am and the line was freakin' insane. Backed up all the way up from downstairs to the security check. I'd say about 1/3rd of the desks were not open and those open were at typical Thai Speed (half of normal speed). For the life of me I can't understand why this is such a complicated process, unless you overstay it should take 30 seconds or less to get stamped through.

And they were not using the biometrics.

Did you go the security/immigration in the middle or the ones on the far right?
