Although I am a US citizen I agree with the poster who said make the Thais pay in the UK & EU instead of being freeloaders.
Anytime I've ever had a visit to Bumrungrad for any reason I've always had to pay up front. I have no experience with other hospitals so can't comment on their methods of being compensated.
Nonsense...we are not politicians, last time I checked
The only recourse we have here is actually to..... stiff them hospital bills.
They started calling us names, we better rise to the occasion ????????
Seriously, mandatory health insurance for all long-termers was a question of time.

If the business plan is to rent to thais, I would advice against.
The only exception is if the building is in a student ghetto ..students are always better behaved than low/working class thais and will agree to get out quickly if they cannot pay.
Get a reliable handyman/painter..you'll need him regularly.

Night roads are deadly in Thailand.
Vehicles w/o lights, drunk drivers, license-less drivers, many ppl speeding (in some cases w/o headlights!) ,all sorts of debris on the road and on and on.
Reckless and abandon.

$600 USD, no need to show any documents at all except for my passport and provide 2 photos ????
What kind of activities are allowed with that 'business' visa?

"despite the lack of sufficient evidence to convict any of them"
The judge believed there was not enough evidence but at last three of them were condemned to the death penalty.
One can understand that the judge was upset and more could feel guilty for not having had the courage or the strength to refuse such an injustice.
My wife saw the story on TV it could be a minister who gave this order? But since the judge is not dead the story is far from finished
I think the story is finished.

So silly Harry said...I have been a silent witness to her suffering for too long.
Harry ole lad, you married that lime light seeking gold digger, so sod off and suffer with her, she will do nothing but drag you down.
It's not going to last.

The thai government doesn't want to get involved in the rigmarole that is thai domestic life (esp in the poor strata)
Bogus claims and counter-claims would clog the court system for eternity
My 2 cents.

That's indeed possible.
However the Austrian Consulate in Pattaya "verify" the incomes of citizens from Austria, Belgium, France, Holland, Germany ( maybe more countries) and issue a Letter of Income for these citizens.
This since many years, I am Belgian and use this service for about 15 years.
So far never had a problem at Jomtien Immigration.
Since a couple of years they now put the sentence " We hereby confirm that..." in the L.o.I..
I believe a request/demand from Thai Immigration.
Austria and Greece are a million light years apart.
Greek bureaucracy is as insane as some of the worst in the third World...definitely the worst in Europe and embassies are even a notch more insane (if that is even possible)

The Greek Embassy will never verify income from a different country.

Malaysians have to pay a staggering 40% more for the same amount of baht in the last 3 years.
I'm surprised they didn't bolt earlier.
