There's a 'tourist boat' from Saphan Taksin pier/BTS station that makes several stops up the river.  Pay on board, low cost.

But if you want the full, local experience, jump on the express Taxi Boat - move inside (it's bad form to travel on the rear entry/exit platform - find a spot near the rails and watch Bangkok go by to the sound whistles and turbo charged diesels. Goes as far as Nothaburi, pay on board, only about 50 THB.

These both option sound fab ^

This taxi boat is also available from same taksin pier ?

I would recommend getting on the free boat from Sathorn pier to Asiatique and the one that goes to Icon Siam. Truly spectacular indeed! Not to mention free!

Yup Asiatique boat ride is already on list...

PS: I know many places are unethical and I am a animal lover but friends are pressuring to have atleast one photo with a tiger and guess I have to get one!

If OP wants help finding a suitable place to stay he could advise his budget and major requirements such as girl/boy friendly, pool, good brekky, near a beach. Many on here will gladly help.

Thank you and I appreciate how all members are willing to help me out...

Main requirement: Girl friendly/budget within 600-1200 max. (Cheaper the better)

Pattaya: I prefer near Soi 6 & walking street (Soi 6 is much preferred)

    Bangkok: Near Nana/Asok BTS

    Thx.

  5. So, I am going to Bangkok in few days and then to fabulous Pattaya.

What am doing is, I book any cheap hotel for 1-2 days and then planning to shift to a better hotel in proper location afterwards....

So my question is: Would be alright and will I get better prices face to face as compared to booking via internet OR its the other way and internet bookings are always cheaper !

I think you're thinking of pseudoephedrine..... which is the medicine that actually works for sinus issues, and can only be obtained here now by doctor's prescription via a hospital.

Phenylephrine is the relatively ineffective successor that the pharmacy industry switched to after the other medicine became restricted as the new OTC sinus medicine, which doesn't work at all for a lot of folks.

It's better to just bite the bullet, go to a doctor, and get a prescription for pseudoephedrine.

You are right... phenylephrine is not reported to be misused.

Can you pls pls do me a favor and check out on med shops if just phenylephrine tabs are available in next 3 days ?

  7. Hello friends,

I take in my home country phenylephrine tablets for my sinus problem.

So, from what I can understand the tablet containing only phenylephrine is not available in Thailand but it comes with a combination of paracetamol. (I can be wrong, lemme knw)

Now, is it Legal to bring phenylephrine tablets into Thailand ?

PS: I cannot take combination tablets coz I will be drinking daily and paracetamol cannot be combined with alcohol.

    PLEASE HELP

    20 to 30 thousand.

    Got it mate ????

Lastly, I believe ATM dispenses 1000 baht notes mostly is we withdraw 10K, 20K

So easy to get smaller notes across thailand in main cities ?

I heard ppl saying small vendors/bars don't give proper change OR claim to have given smaller notes when they have to return change from 1K notes - A lil cautious I am but am sure I will manage fine.

Rate is currently 2.34. So you are paying a commission of up to 3%. Depends on what you consider a good deal.

Then you have the hefty cost of up to 220 baht for ATM withdrawals in Thailand. Some vendors may even attempt to charge for card usage.

    Be careful out there ????

Can u tellme if all ATM has max cash withdrawal limit mentioned on them ?

What's the normal limit for withdrawals ?

  10. So I am planning to carry money loaded into my forex card and wanted to withdraw cash on a daily basis as much as I need, but I think I got a problem coz I read somewhere that apart from the ATM cash withdrawal charges Levied by my own bank + the local bank who's ATM I am using also levy charges which can be around 180-200 Baht per transaction.

Now, this can prove to be too costly for me as I am in Thailand for 1 month.

So, please tellme what are the ATM cash withdrawal charges bank has there in Thailand ?

PS: I am India and planning to go with ICICI/HDFC/Axis bank forex cards.
