I have a condo too, but the blue book/chanote is in the safe of my condo.

I do have a signed document from the manager of the building, stating that I am the owner of the condo (full name and date of birth is mentioned).

    Would they accept this ?

    REminder to self and others:

Always keep a snapshot of important documents on phone for emergencies such as this.    It may not always help but it surely can't hurt.

A good reason to have laws about maximum salaries or equations e.g. Salary & benefits for most senior position cannot be more than X times salary & benefits of the lowest paid position, and this sometimes meaning that all of the final 4? positions evaluated (in terms of job size) in the lowest 4? positions lowest cannot be paid lower than a designated salary & benefits. It can be done.

That may happen when there's a one world government in the future but short of that I think it'll just be same as usual with a higher and higher concentration of wealth at the top until the worker  bees just decide to throw caution to the wind and go "Marie Antoinette fashion".

They are private hospitals, this is normal.

The worst is Bamrungrad, I remember 20 years ago when one of my kids was born, they charged 300 baht every time we used the breast pump and a package of 29,900 baht turned into 82,000.

I have to admit I had the impression no one could "pull one over on you" being the financial wiz you profess to be.

I could write a book about Thailand and its hidden treasures, but I doubt I'd make much money. There are already hundreds of books published about almost every aspect of LOS. I'd just be joining a crowded field.

What would be viable IMO would be a proper VDO travel documentary series of Thailand. Unfortunately such would cost large and I don't know anyone willing to give me loadsacash to do anything.

But are the super rich billionaire Thais of CP foods and Thaibev and MK restaurants and others providing any charity to their hungry fellow countrymen? None of them were found on Pattaya beach on Sunday helping to feed the hungry people.

Nothing different from all other countries across the planet.

As there was no other restaurants open in the village , we had to go home hungry .

Things like what you post used to bother me.    I finally learned to accept them as I realize I can do nothing to change them.

Many businesses here don't even think to post operating hours.    It's a concept outside their thinking.

AS one poster suggested, maybe it would help you if you moved to a different location.

    Good luck

. I well remember flying through Singapore many years ago, and having hair cut by immigration officials before allowing me to enter as it was below my collar

Your  post reminds me of an acquaintance who complained about his  lifetime jobless brother (69 years old) who was turned back by Singapore Immigration because of his hair and dirty appearance.   This lad   actually gets his daily  food from dumpster diving.

The truth was that his appearance was dirty looking and his hair was down to his shoulders.     Singapore can be criticized for  requiring an adherence to  laws but when  visiting the place I didn't get the feeling anything was oppressive.

The most impressive feeling I got from Singapore is "everything works".

Even traffic mitigation is so seamless it  almost seems there are no obstructions  in the first place.

Really, care to explain your viewpoint.

Don't mean to speak for the poster but I think he's saying if a person cannot see into a car during the day because of tint darkness, how can the person driving  the car see out well at night?

All organized religions use the same tactic to exert control on their followers.

That is what they are all about.

Perhaps that's why I referred  to some mutual friends that this man had succumbed to drugs  as in "religion is the drug of the masses".   At least I think that was the opinion of Marx.

I wouldn't say that's an "unfortunate and uncaring" attitude, although perhaps there's some naivety in trying to convince others when we find something which we think is worth to let everyone know.

When i became a vegetarian, I was pestering everyone around me for a year or so, before understanding that the people were getting annoyed .

Thanks, I get it but I don't think there's a solid comparison between being a vegetarian and  being a radical right wing religious  zealot.  His right wing stance allows him to be hateful of all who are not members of his Southern Baptist church which is a very large right wing denomination in the USA.

  11. I sent an  article from a New Zealand newspaper to a friend with whom I'd worked  for  a dozen years.     I know he's religious and the article was I thought void of politics and  or anything  controversial.

He sent back this reply to me:

"Hi XXXX, in this world, even though I turned my back to it and my Lord and Savior for nearly ten years, this is the only real truth, the only news and truth that matters in the end. My prayer is for you to receive the free gift of a merciful ,gracious and loving Savior! When one receives true forgiveness from sin, by realizing that “all” have sinned and asking forgiveness, expressing true  repentance and believing In Christ, can one have true Peace, and a Biblical understanding of what is happening today!
I am seriously hoping and praying  that your heart and mind are ready to accept this free gift of “eternal life” of joy and happiness—the alternative is “eternal life “ of  never ending suffering !
Well  XXXX,  that’s my true feeling of this world’s news reporting! “
I find his attitude unfortunate and uncaring for others.

I wonder how some religions convince followers that their's is the one and only true religion?    That remains a mystery to me.

I any country in the world contracts are only valid if they are not against the law. So even if it say no severance pay it is not actually sure that it means no severance pay because if a contract goes against the labor laws its invalid and labor laws take over. So the question is more about labor laws then contract.

Only that part of the contract which is deemed illegal is rendered invalid.    The rest of the contract remains in place.
