    Sorry typo.  Dr. Anna Jaruwan

Dr. Anna is the best. Have been seeing him for many years. I think semi-retired now, she's quite old. As someone mentioned, I think it's Wednesdays only now. But well worth the wait. She successfully treated an advanced BCC on my ear a few years ago.

Dr. Waraporn as PIH also excellent.

  2. Have you considered a CAC scan? A few years back my cholesterol was sky high (mostly LDL, the rest was in the normal range). My PCP was aggressively pushing statins, but I was concerned about the potential side effects. I subsequently got the scan in Pattaya, reviewed the results with the attending cardiologist, who informed me my score was zero. He told me to forget about the medication, and just continue what I was doing (ketovore diet). After that, my PCP didn't mention it again. Not medical advice of course, I'm not a doc, just something for you to consider.

I believe this is an ongoing requirement (not new for 2024).

I use St. Brendan’s Isle (SBI) in Florida. I'm very happy with their service.

Thanks for the recommendation, will check them out. They will scan and forward all mail received? Mainly interested in a physical address for SS documents and contact. I don't want to rely on friends, or have them reading my financial documents.

Bad for knees. Beyond 20 its not good for you unless you are fit.

Any exercise can cause damage if done too much

Exactly. For anyone unfit, out of shape, being forced to do 60 squat jumps, could certainly injure your joints (mainly knees). Don't think so, try a set right now, see how you feel afterwards.

Coming back in July. My airfare is over twice what it is normally. Airfares are apparently extremely high in general. No one seems to be pointing it out that this could put a huge damper on international tourism arrivals if it is prolonged.

Absolutely! Just booked a flight for July as well. Cheapest I could find was $1,550 (departing San Francisco). About twice pre-COVID, and 50% higher than just last year. Damper is an understatement.

  6. Definitely worth it, but pricey. At least it was in the US, I don't know about Thailand. I got an upper right side molar implant, to replace a fractured tooth that was pulled. Opted for the implant vs a bridge. That was 4 years ago, very happy with it today, no issues. Would definitely repeat if needed.

and that is so bad? Think most would take the risk of dying happy other than cowering at home.  It has been two years now and think we know the risk.  If your fat, old, unhealthy then take precautions.  As for me, literally no risk of dying of Covid.

Amen. Same here. Caught Alpha & Delta in Thailand. Both times would barely qualify as a mild cold. So tired of the 24/7 fear porn.

No, it is not just the flu. It is caused by a completely different virus which attacks the body in a different way than the flu virus. It has clearly been more deadly than the flu in the earlier stages of the pandemic. A flu vaccine will not protect you from Covid-19. Your statement is nonsense.

That being said, the increasingly dominant Omicron variant seems to be causing symptoms a lot like the common cold so it may be time to finally stop being afraid of it and start trying to live our lives a bit more freely again.

It varies widely by individual. I caught Delta in June from a local Thai. Very mild symptoms, didn't know I even had it (confirmed later with an antibody test).

I am insured from a Canadian insurance company for $1M, it includes Covid-19 related medical expenses, it is pretty deep in the documentation though, how do I prove to the immigration agent that I have coverage for Covid-19 ?

Do you guys have any idea?  I am guessing the insurer will not accept to write a letter, I will talk to them tomorrow but it seems complicated to say the least.  Oh, and here (Quebec) they charge around $200 for a PCR test and only in big cities... lovely.

In my area of CA, I paid $235 for a PCR test (same day results)! And before I returned to the US, 5500 baht (about $180) for the same test at PIH! So $415 extra added to my holiday just for testing...and then there's the insurance.

As I mentioned in another thread, check with the airline you are using. Some include complimentary Covid insurance as part of the airfare. JAL does this, 31 days of coverage from your date of departure. I spoke with their rep, they said they would provide a certificate for Thai immigration. I believe Qatar Air does as well. I was unaware of this my last visit.

This now confirms at 100% that Thailand has entered a totalitarism authoritarian era.

GPS, facetracking, position tracking, no cap, no sunglasses, no eyeglasses, must be turned on at all times, uses your dataplan at your own expense, etc, etc, etc.

We have now entered a new era, the Chinese masters will be pleased.

I'm done with Thailand. I know I've said this before, but this time, I really mean it.

Looks similar to the existing app? I used this during my April - July visit. Not once did anyone ask to see it, including airport immigration. And I never received any notifications. Re the photo, that's standard for any visa / passport pic (no cap, glasses, etc.). I downloaded the app on my iPad (it kept crashing on my smartphone), and left it on all day in my room (I was using it all the time anyways, but never took it outside). Agree with your other comments though.
