Let me tell you how heavyweight that Sunbelt is, "my benny rai" made a simple call to immigration, got an answer, then Sunbelt hurried up to change his false info right away, he probably even didn't go to immigration yesterday, he probably never had that written paper.Bangkok Phil asked me to post this here as well so here goes:After surfing the immigration website, I called immigration in Bangkok and talked to a very helpful and pleasant officer who spoke English. She stated a few things that will hopefully clarify some rumors and make people feel better:
Whatever, I guess your guys here are not interested in the real news, all your interest is talking.
Ps. I still have the suspicion that why Sunbelt did this. He’s got a motive, he sells everything but the visa run service.

uncertain information is MUCH more useful than NO information.
So, you are telling me that you really enjoy listening to Sunbelt's uncertain information. Come on, you must be bored, get a real life.
-
I believe that would be their interest, too. But just Sunbelt happens to offer different type of visas from the 30 days visaruns. That would be Sunbelt's interest too! -
My interest today is to keep farangs stay and to help my country.Oooooh I didn't get that Visaman has a vested interest in this .....more becomes clear! -
a free lunch doesn't show the confidence. I am going to give anyone a free air ticket from tomorrow if I can't make their visa run done. How's that sound?Come to our office then. You pay for lunch if I show it to you with the government seal and it says three entries in a six month period. Deal?Otherwise you can say we are full of imaginations

I don't believe there was a high source, and I don't believe there was a written paper either, all I trust are the facts, not the imaginations. I talk to the border almost everyday, I still don't know what they are going to do after Oct 1st. Sunbelt, hopefully you can talk to them as often as I do.
-
So, there is no official news so far, why you made us shitting our pants then....This new news came from a high source and its good news, as it lets visa runners time to get the visa situation straighten out, let’s hope it sticks. Here’s another thing, even if the official news is confirmed. It still will come down to the officer’s discretion at the airport or border. Just like the land situation, you can count on it happening.

I tried last 2 days here to cool this bad news down, nobody listened. I guess I have to be a sponsor soon.
-
So, we've been listening to your imagination for last 2 days. But I am still interested to see that paper.
Let's ask Sunbelt again for the same question. I was told by the border police today that they still didn't know yet, to count before or after Oct 1, I am very interested to see that paper Sunbelt got from Suanplu yesterday.Sun Belt
Have stated recently that the stamps accrued before Oct 1st DO count in the 90 day rule ????
No exceptions........ ?
In that written paper, it says nothing about the start date of Oct 1 being the clock starting at zero.

Because there is no such a law yet, before it turns into a fact, it is only a rumour.I tried with the Thai Embassy here in NL, they don't even know about this new law.... -
I just talked to the officers at Ban Laem, no problem to get a W30 before Oct 1,Question for the Sunbelt guy...Ok, then where does that leave me - I've been here since 10th May, have already done 3 visa runs etc, and my current stamp expires on 29th September... I was planning on going home by 6th November when my ticket expires...
I have just booked two teenage daughters to come and stay 2 weeks (8th Oct - 25th Oct) and now have no idea if I will even be allowed to be here! Which could mess up the girl's holiday a bit...
What is your opinion - will I be given another 30 days if I turn up for a visa run at Ban Laem on or before 29th September????
Regards, Ben

Let's celebrate Oct 1 as a Visa Run Holiday.
-
If your guys are not sure, try to do a visarun before the so called Oct 1, or wait to see what's gonna happen after Oct 1. Let them catch some rich weekly Japanese golfer first.Agreed. This is really short term notice. -
Someone here is cooking this news so hot in order to gain personal interest.
The problem is, we like to listen to the bad news.

Thailand can't afford to lose hundreds, thousands farangs, nobody wants Thailand to be like Phuket right after Tsunami.
-
Sunbelt's example is too scary. The worst scenario, they will start to count from Oct 1.If it still isn't clear, please explain in what way. -
It hasn't started yet, Thailand can't afford to do that.Well...It's up to you mueng Thai...if you don't like I spend my money here...bye bye!!!! -
Your example is incorrect, it doesn't make any sense.Example. You have a 30 day stamp on July 9th, August 7th, Sept 5th and now you must leave October 4th. You will not be able to re enter Thailand without a visa or wait 90 days before coming back. The cycle than can repeat itself.

Sorry George, I have been attacking one of your sponsors. But what he did last 2 days wasn't professional. This is the last one, enough, I am off.
