Think your sticker probably states what is possible, there is no way anyone can quote actual mileage as we all drive differently....:stoner:

It does, in an odd way, at least for me. It shows 7.5/per 100 Kilos (=13.5K per L). I am guessing they divided 100 by 7.5, then rounded up to = the 13.5. In any case, your point is valid, I was just seeking information on a general average. We have been driving very conservatively and possibly getting poor fuel efficiency. I say possibly, because I may be misinterpreting the dash display. I actually may have to do a manual conversion myself....more to follow.

Our Toyota Fortuner 3.0 diesel two-wheel drive gets about 13kpl highway driving at around 100kph. City driving about 8.6.

Thank you. With only one number on the sticker from the manufacturer, I assumed it was an average kpl city/highway. I never really expected to get 13.2 kpl, but I did expect something like 11.2 kpl or so... We drove from Kanchanaburi to Bangkok, some stop and go of course, but we really tried to stay a consistent 100kph with very slow starts when we were stopped. Maybe the 8.0 we are getting is realistic.

Thank you, ....and you are correct, our truck is the REVO Double-cab 4x4 2.8 High AT. I had seen so many Toyota trucks with the "Pre-runner" sticker on the side that I just typed it automatically! We, like most people of course would like the functionality of a truck with the gas mileage of a Honda City! We test drove several of the smaller cars, and prefer a smaller car for most trips, but we like the utility of a truck and well....we obviously went with the truck, but quite disappointed in the gas consumption.

  4. I recently purchased a new truck (Toyota Hilux Revo Prerunner Double-Cab 2.8L AT 4x4). The window sticker claims 13.2K per/Liter. The sticker does not differentiate between City and Highway, only the 13.2 Kilometers per liter. After driving the truck for 1 month, and receiving perfect scores in the Toyota iConnect App for both OVERALL driving and acceleration, we only get 7.9 to 8.1 Kilometers per liter; significantly less than Toyota's claim. When driving, we've been driving in ECO mode and have only used premium diesel gasoline (I'm not sure if it really makes a difference or not, but we go with the premium). In any case, I spoke with Toyota service department and they stated I should be close to 13.2K p/L, especially with our driving conservatively. Our truck is now with the dealership for investigation and possibly repair if they find an issue. I am wondering what type of mileage other Toyota owners of the same make/model are getting????

Well I did exactly that, because the agent told me to and that it would be fine (TM30 followed by 90 day report).  It was fine up to a point -  they accepted the TM30 but then refused to accept the 90-day report, saying I had to go back to the province where I got the extension to do that. But they did accept and process my re-entry permit that I applied for at the same time, and that is in my passport. I never did the 90-day report as I was leaving the country soon after, so I'll deal with any fine for the late 90-day at the time that I apply for the new extension, this time in the new province. I used an agent not because I didn't meet the requirements but for other reasons at that time. I will be able to do it myself the next time and plan to do just that.

It appears I should have contacted the agent I used initially first before going to the Kanchanaburi immigration office.....good luck on your return, hopefully the fine is minimal!

  6. Thank you!

You will not be able to get another extension without using an agent that can arrange the financial proof.

To apply for the extension at Kanchanaburi you will need proof you had 800k baht in the bank for 3 months after the day you applied your current extension and then at least 400k baht for the remainder of the year.

  7. Ubonjoe,

Thank you for your reply. I did not have financial proof for my initial retirement visa going through the agency in Pattaya (Chonburi). For my extension, the immigration office said I must renew in Kanchanburi, not Chonburi. I like to keep my financial information private and I don't particuarly want to maintain 800,000 THB in my Thai bank. I am sure that limits my options.

  8. Does anyone know if it is acceptable to extend your retirement visa through a passport agency in one province while living in a different province?

My initial Non-O/Retirement Visa was accomplished through a passport agency and subsequently issued through Chonburi Immigration. The visa is a multiple-exit/entry retirement visa. I used the passport agency for convenience, as requirements seemed to be ever changing and the passport agency understood the requirements and processes to obtain my visa for me.

I recently returned to Thailand, completed the 2-week quarantine period and returned to my home in Kanchanaburi province. I contacted Kanchanaburi immigration to inform them I returned and they asked me to visit in person. Upon inspection of my passport, they asked why I obtained a visa in Chonburi vs. Kanchanaburi, and then informed me I MUST extend my visa through the Kanchanaburi immigration office before it's expiration (OCT 2021). I planned to use the same agency in Pattaya for my extension. Does anyone know if I can extend my visa in a province other than the one I live in? I am not aware of a passport agency in Kanchanaburi that can do it for me.  Thank you...

  9. Crossy,

Thank you. Yes, it has been left empty, and it does appear to have collapsed. My wife continues to tell me it is a grease trap and that processes grey water and not a septic. HomePro has come out to take a look at it, but will have to contract it out. All the local Thai companies other than my HomePro either don't know what it is or don't want to work on it. I will wait for the estimate from HomePro for the replacement cost. Cheers!

  10. Hello, my wife and I have recently purchased a home in a residential area and have found we have an issue with a waste water tank. It appears it needs to be replaced, however we are struggling with finding someone to replace the tank. Does anyone know what type of water tank is depicted in the picture? I believe water from our shower, bathroom sink and washer may drain into it, however I'm not sure. My wife has called construction companies in our area, but currently everyone says they are busy and the companies in Bangkok want 20THB p/kilometer just to come take a look. We live in Kanchanaburi. Any information on what this tank is for or someone who can replace the tank in our area is appreciated! Cheers!!!
